See the Fun ‘Miss Fisher’ New & Exclusive to Acorn TV!
If you, like me, are an avid period drama fan, there’s one series you’ve likely heard all the rave reviews for – and if not, please, allow me to introduce you to said series. A good number of years ago now, I stumbled across the Australian series Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries. A 1920s era show you may have seen the first two seasons of on Netflix. If you’ve browsed the streaming page recently, you’ll notice its first two seasons are no longer available, but today, I have news on where you can binge seasons one and two for the first time (or maybe again), and see the eight episodes of the third season. The answer beginning October 7th, you’ll now find Miss Fisher on Acorn TV!
‘My Life is Murder’: Make Sure You See this Fun New Acorn Mystery
Plus Acorn has other exciting news about Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries. First, let’s take a look at more about Miss Fisher and her series three adventures, premiering October 7th, direct from Acorn TV.
MISS FISHER’S MURDER MYSTERIES, Series 3 (Streaming Exclusive)
In this final season, this stylish and sexy period mystery stars Essie Davis (The Babadook) as Phryne Fisher, a thoroughly modern woman operating in a mostly male world. Set in 1920s Melbourne, the series follows the glamorous lady detective as she goes about her work with a pistol close at hand and, more often than not, a male admirer even closer. (8 EPS, 2015) Coming in 2020, Miss Fisher returns in special feature-length mystery, MISS FISHER & THE CRYPT OF TEARS.
MORE DETAILS ON SERIES 3:
The third Series of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries continues the unconventional antics of stylish lady detective, the Honourable Miss Phryne Fisher, as she solves crimes with the help of her ensemble of household cohorts and continues her playful partnership with the suave and dedicated, Detective Jack Robinson.
Phryne’s estranged father, Baron Henry George Fisher, arrives unannounced in Australia after selling up the family estate in England and does his best to ingratiate himself with Dot, Bert, Cec and Mr. Butler, though his roguish charm is lost on his own daughter. When Phryne recalls a secret encounter she witnessed during the War, between her father and an angry visitor, she begins to suspect that the cousin the Fishers inherited their title from is still alive and could be out to exact his revenge.
Explore a Beautiful New World in ‘The Secret Garden’ Trailer
As it says early on in the series 3 description (see above, direct from Acorn), in early 2020, you’ll see the return of Miss Fisher and Co. in an all-new adventure, Miss Fisher & the Crypt of Tears! That’s right, she returns in a feature film that I’ve no doubt will be snazzy, sassy and superb. Either way, 2020 isn’t that far away, and what could be more exciting than the prospect of a new adventure with this feisty lady detective? (Plus, the return of Detective Jack Robinson is nothing to sneeze at either!)
Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries can now be found exclusively on Acorn TV’s streaming service, plus you can find a selection of additional quality TV shows, and content there. Still not sure? Give the streaming service a try with a seven-day trial, and browse their library (but trust me, you’ll find lots to enjoy!).
