Matchmaker Mysteries, A Killer Engagement: It’s a Perfect Match!
No matter the day of the week, it’s always fun to discover a new story and meet new characters. On many Sunday nights, we can do this through the “signature” mysteries on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries. This time around, they have an all-new amateur sleuth to introduce us to in the debut of Matchmaker Mysteries: A Killer Engagement.
Matchmaker Mysteries: A Killer Engagement (2019) Hallmark Movies and Mysteries Review
What Ally Dove (Danica McKellar) is good at – really good, is matching people with their soul mate. So good in fact, she has a successful match-making show, and eager viewers who love what she does. At the engagement party of her latest successful match, Ally is shocked to be witness to the death of the bride-to-be. But with so many possible suspects in a house full of guests, who could have wished Emma harm?
Her keen sense of observation catches the notice of Detective Kyle Carter (Victor Webster). The two clash as Ally investigates, determined to prove Emma’s fiancée didn’t commit this crime, all while both are unaware that Detective Carter is actually a training recruit of her now-retired law man father (Bruce Boxteitner).
Like any of the mysteries in this network family, Matchmaker Mysteries is another fun cozy mystery. Is it my favorite? No, but I can still enjoy the whodunit and the chance to see a new story. This one feels a little of tempo in comparison to the quality of some of its peers, but even as a “new kid,” I don’t think this is anything that hinders the enjoyment. Anyone who likes these types of productions will find an entertaining movie here. matchmaker mysteries a killer engagement
TV FILM REVIEW | ‘Aurora Teagarden: A Game of Cat and Mouse’ See a Fun New Mystery
#MatchmakerMysteries, A Killer Engagement: It's a Perfect Match! A TV review of the Hallmark mystery with Danica McKellar. Share on XThose who frequent the network will easily recognize McKallar as a favorite; she’s a frequent “Countdown to Christmas” lead, and has been in a handful of other Hallmark originals, most recently, Love and Sunshine. Likewise, Webster is familiar having appeared in several romances including with Candace Cameron Bure, and in one of my favorites, Love Blossoms.
When it all comes down to it, there’s some fun sleuthing, good banter and of course, with that banter, here begins a will-they-or-won’t-they-get-together romance. Like anything else, this is likely the first of a new set of installments to solve the latest whodunits with. Whether or not you’re a fan of the network or simply its leading lady, fans will find plenty to enjoy in this new cozy mystery meets a hint of romance “match”!
