MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL
Hello, everyone. It’s the 25th day of December, a day that almost anyone will tell you is a kind of end-of-year highlight amidst all the busyness of the year. For some this may be because it means some time away from a workplace. For others, perhaps it means being able to go home and relish in the moments of feeling like you’re “back” and belong with your people. Or maybe it’s because it means presents whereas others find a special and more meaningful reason to love the season. Then there’s the reason of loving the traditions of the day. Whatever your reason, it’s here and this is a merry Christmas to one and all kind of greeting!
As December 25th approached this year, I had and still have a lot of emotions. They aren’t things tied up in this day or what it means to me, but rather in the place I’m at. It’s hard to be somewhere that feels different, and that’s why Christmas day and the trimmings can sometimes feel less exciting. Feelings I know many understand. But whether or not you are at home or somewhere else, it is Christmas day, and somehow we all find a small piece of magic to spare.
Maybe that’s found in the laughter around the dinner table. Or perhaps a silly Christmas movie. Maybe it’s in that piece of pie only Christmas can entice you to indulge in. Even maybe you find it in the act of wrapping a gift and giving it to someone you love. Whatever it is, there is small snippets of magic and no better time than the end of year reflections and gratitude we, hopefully, practice. I know I am beyond thankful to everyone who shows this space support. Thank you. It means more than you know to this girl.
