RANKING THE 2021 LIFETIME CHRISTMAS ROMANCE MOVIES
In 2021, I didn’t watch many of the It’s a Wonderful Lifetime Christmas movies. However I did see a few, most of which are pretty forgettable. Still as it’s something I enjoy putting together I still wanted to share my Ranking the Lifetime Christmas Movies 2021.

The rest just fall too flat. Also, while I didn’t watch many, I did scan through three of these today (while working) just for this post. Yes. I’m way weird. However, as with every year there’s plenty of familiar faces and that’s always nice for anyone who is a fan. Let’s meet the movies.

Least to most favorite
9: MATCH MADE IN MISTLETOE
Follows a decorator hired to decorate an embassy for a newly arrived ambassador. Cute in some ways, this one doesn’t have the polish some of the others do.
8: MISTLETOE IN MONTANA
Popular in Christmas TV films, Melissa Joan Hart plays a woman who runs a ranch in Montana who welcomes a single dad and his two kids for a stay over Christmas. Not always the biggest MJH fan however seeing NCIS’ Duane Henry is a pleasant surprise. Beyond this, it’s just a little rusty. The romance isn’t special and there’s something about the staging that’s “off” and even the dialogue works off some unusual timing (some of which is WAY too obvious in its ADR or dubbing). ranking the lifetime christmas movies 2021
7: BLENDING CHRISTMAS
Wanted to love this one because of Haylie Duff and I don’t mind Aaron O’Connell (he played opposite Katrina Law in another film). However nothing… blends as well as it may have in this comedy about a man trying to propose and the many mishaps along the way.
6: A CHRISTMAS VILLAGE ROMANCE
I enjoyed this one more than I thought. Some of the costuming isn’t super attractive, but its premise is sweet. The plot follows a romance novelist who finds herself in love with her cover model, but is he her happily ever after? I do think the lead actress, while fine, just isn’t quite right in the role. The film does get points for allowing Carter to tell the girl that he really likes her. That goes a long way.
5: MAPS AND MISTLETOE
This one starts out rough, and isn’t really one I was enjoying. But then the more I watched, the cuter this one got. I didn’t love some of the production aspects early on nor did I love the lead actors. However I stuck with it and by the end, I did think there was some cuteness between them. ranking the lifetime christmas movies 2021

The movies with Mario Lopez are a “hit or miss” for me. I enjoyed one of his previous year Lifetime romances, but then didn’t love a Valentine rom-com he played in. So oddly enough while I’m always curious about his, I don’t like every one. This one is one I did enjoy. What makes it standout is the cute connection between the leads and that the “big corporation” isn’t the “evil” most scripts make them. ranking the lifetime christmas movies 2021
3: DANCING THROUGH THE SNOW
A really sweet title and actually probably better, production wise, than my “second place” feature. It’s a charming story about a single firefighter dad putting his daughter, who loves ballet, at the center of his world. One thing I like about this story is that it has the understanding of liking and dating. Also, Colin Lawrence from Virgin River plays the lead and I love seeing him somewhere outside Virgin River’s universe and I do think the leads have cute-ness, too. (Oh, and fun fact, Lily, is played by Colin’s real daughter.)
2: THE HOLIDAY FIX UP
Not great at all, but I did enjoy seeing Ryan McPartlin (so it’s him that bumps this one up) in this. What I don’t like is the styling of lead Jana Kramer. We’re asked to believe that she’s a tough and knowledgeable demo expert and DIY-er and based on her styling, I just don’t buy it. I get that “movie magic” wants the leading lady to be cute, but I’ve seen it done well. This isn’t it.
1: TOYING WITH THE HOLIDAYS
Cindy Busby and Chad Michael Murray team up in this romantic-comedy about a career woman who, upon her return to her hometown recruits a former high school classmate to help revive a town tradition. Though I really like Chad, I thought this one was a fun time.
