If you were part of the craze that was dystopian storytelling in young adult fiction, you may be surprised to learn something. This something being that one of these stories is celebrating a MILESTONE this year – March 23rd to be exact. That’s right this is The Hunger Games ten years later quiz. First a novel by Suzanne Collins, this best-selling novel became a worldwide sensation adaptation, too.THE HUNGER GAMES MOVIE QUIZ: CELEBRATE TEN YEARS LATER #QUIZ #MOVIEQUIZ #THEHUNGERGAMES #HUNGERGAMES #KATNISSEVERDEEN #MOVIES #DYSTOPIAN #JENNIFERLAWRENCE Click To Tweet
The story, if you don’t know, follows a teenager named Katniss Everdeen who lives in a world ruled by an evil president. A person who, each year, holds an event dubbed The Hunger Games wherein the children from each district end up battling it out to see who will survive the brutal “to the death” games. Honestly, I do not like the stories! The idea of cultivating a society with no freedom is terrifying as is the notion that children are forced to fight to the death for any chance at survival. It’s a chilling scenario and one I see in a slightly different light.
Book Katniss always read as too emotionless for me and while I do understand this given that she can only survive rather than truly live in her world, I still didn’t care for the concept. Jennifer Lawrence gives the character some emotion and feels realer to me though this could just be the translation from word to visual storytelling too. Elizabeth Banks, Willow Shields, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson and many others co-star in this adventure flick from 2012.
