POP CULTURE NEWS ONE HUNDRED and FIFTY-SIX

This week in the news is the renewal of When Hope Calls. A spin off from When Calls the Heart, this drama is about to undergo changes. Namely the show’s second year, coming five years after its debut will now air on Great American Family. It will also no longer be about Grace Bennett (played by Jocelyn Hudon) but will focus on some new characters along with some original cast, too. The show will begin to film this month and will air starting January 2025. New cast will include Cindy Busby, Christopher Russell, and Nick Bateman. Also starring will be Wendy Crewson, Hanneke Talbot, Morgan Kohan, and Ryan-James (RJ) Hatanaka. The press release further states “here are eight episodes in season two, and while the opening episodes pay homage to the romance of “Lillian” and “Mountie Gabriel,” new characters are introduced…” Will you watch?

Hallmark put out release dates for their 2024 Christmas movies. We shared the October dates this past week and I will share more in October for the November premieres. Meanwhile of the premieres in October, the one I’m most curious about is Holiday Crashers which will follow a pair of besties who crash seasonal parties. How fun does this sound? Which ones are you planning to see?
