Whether or not I’m okay with it, this coming month, the fourth to be precise, one of my most favorite films of all time has a milestone. That’s right, today we celebrate The Avengers ten years later (quiz). Nothing like a fun pop culture anniversary to realize, dude, I’m old. Another thing this celebration makes me realize, superhero movies just aren’t “it” anymore.
But let’s talk more about this below.

It came about post the single Marvel films and introduction of characters like Tony Stark (Iron Man), Steve Rogers (Captain America) and Thor. The Avengers brings together these and many other heroes as part of Marvel’s ‘Phase One’ of their cinematic universe. The film is epic, fun and memorable if not a little overlong in its run time.
When I think back on some of these productions, what makes me most sad is how different the “phases” of this universe are now. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a Marvel film (I think the last one I saw was not the most recent, but not the last Spider-Man movie), from what I’ve read, this phase is kind of undoing where everyone was in ‘Endgame.’ Everything seems, if possible, darker than ‘Endgame’ was and that leads to more heart breaking for those of us who were pleased to see some sense of contentment and happiness for beloved characters.
Regardless, carrying my love over for the OG Avengers (is ‘OG’ even a term anymore?), I did want to celebrate it turning ten! Sadly, I didn’t get a re-watch in (at least not yet), but it’s still fun to think back and remember. As a little celebration, we have a ‘how well do you know’ the film quiz! I did want to do a personality quiz as well, but figure there’s 1,000 of those out there already, so we’ll do this instead.

I didn’t do so well on the quiz, although I know I got all of the quotes right! Love this movie, love these characters! We finally did watch the new Spiderman and are excited to actually go to the theater to see the Doctor Strange movie.
YAY for the new Doctor Strange movie!! I’m really curious about that one but I’ve actually NOT watched a single promo video for it.
