POP CULTURE NEWS ONE HUNDRED and FOURTEEN
POP STAR PUBLICIST vs SOCIAL MEDIA GOSSIP
The “big” drama in the pop culture world just happened yesterday! The 2-million follower gossip page, Deuxmoi is being called out by Taylor Swift’s publicist. The “enough is enough” reaction that the publicist, Tree Paine, responds to is another commitment ceremony rumor between Taylor Swift and her ex, Joe Alwyn. Paine’s post also says that Deuxmoi’s posts contain “fabricated lies about Taylor […] It’s time for you to be held accountable for the pain and trauma you cause with posts like these.”
In response the account implies that Paine’s response is unnecessary saying, “Well I make zero dollars from lying.. can publicists say the same. Also, to relate something that is in reference to something that happened years ago to ‘pain & trauma’ after what just happened seems like a poor choice of words.” Concluding with, “Either way, I apologize to Taylor.” What do you think of this drama? I think Deuxmoi’s response certainly doesn’t seem sincere. It IS rare for Swift’s team to directly respond to anything so the Deuxmoi account is saying that this means something.
Speaking of Swift, her fans are also all in a tizzy (let it go) because Swift released to streaming her rare Midnights cut ‘You’re Losing Me.’ This then inspired her collaborator Jack Antonoff to post that December of 2021 is the song’s recording date meaning they now wonder if Swift and Alwyn, whom they believe the song is about, were in trouble for nearly two years. Here’s the thing. Just because Swift writes a breakup song doesn’t mean that’s her present. Second, I saw a fan say that they find it weird that Alwyn is suddenly the bad guy. Like this fan says, Swift was with Alwyn for six years so that means there WAS good there, and that’s what I say. If you’re going to claim Swift stayed with him for six years, and he wasn’t a good dude, then she isn’t following her own messaging.
LAST things
NBC renewed two of their freshman dramas, Found and The Irrational.
Are you a fan of Amy Schumer? If so, you may have seen, her next upcoming project is a Netflix comedy called Kinda Pregnant. The concept as of now follows a woman who becomes jealous of her friend’s pregnancy, so she fakes one… only to then meet the guy who is perfect for her.
This past week, on November 27th to be exact, Disney’s Frozen had a big anniversary! It turned ten years old. We celebrated with some random and silly quizzes. Did you celebrate by watching the movie?
Like we discuss in last week’s roundup, the Dick Wolf “One Chicago” series is both losing (and gaining!) characters. Last week it was star Kara Kilmer from Chicago Fire. This week, from the same show, it’s Alberto Rosende, leaving in the upcoming season twelve premiere. Meanwhile Chicago Med announces it will add Blindspot actor Luke Mitchell to their lineup of actors.
Acorn TV has renewed Jane Seymour’s amateur detective drama Harry Wild for a third series.
