COLORFUL BOOK COVER ART OF SUMMER!

For some reason when I think of colorful summer book covers, what immediately comes to mind is BRIGHT. A palette of bright tones and shading is my idea of summer covers. This even before the imagery of summertime. Not sure the why but there you have it. As we’re in summer, seems a nice day to look at some summer cover art, right?

LIST | THE ROMANCE OF EDDIE AND JAMIE FROM BLUE BLOODS (OTP FAVORITES!)

However imagery of summer is always a plus too and I think I have quite the solid lineup from my shelf that features all of these things! Chances are I’ve read next to none of them but we love to look at the pretties! Let’s jump in.

COLORFUL SUMMER BOOK COVERS

SOMEONE ELSE’S SUMMER, RACHEL BATEMAN

Had this one for years and while its cover art is more carefree, I believe the pages of this novel feature a bittersweet story. But with the yellow shading and beach scene, I couldn’t not add this one. Goodreads

NO WORDS, MEG CABOT

I mean, does this one really need an explanation for the “why” of the feature? Nope. I would agree. Goodreads

HAPPINESS FOR BEGINNERS, KATHERINE CENTER

Seems like, based on coloring alone, almost any of Katherine’s novels would fit on this kind of list. I think beyond that, it’s all of the flower imagery that puts it squarely on the list. Goodreads

THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY, JENNY HAN

This one just is kind of a repetitive, yes, but also automatic must add. Between the title and its vibes, it fits! Goodreads

PEOPLE WE MEET ON VACATION, EMILY HENRY

This is like the trifecta! Between the title, colors and imagery, it’s a SOLID look and makes anyone looking for a read to enjoy on the beach reaching for it. Or at least I’d assume so. Honestly, the more I read about Emily’s novels (reviews) coupled with how I felt about Beach Read, and I’ll likely ditch this one. Probably will list this (maybe this week) on eBay because I just doubt I’ll enjoy this author. Goodreads

SINCE YOU’VE BEEN GONE, MORGAN MATSON

I’m pretty sure almost any of Morgan’s books would fit on a list like this simply because they are a whole summer vibe. This one may not be as bright with its color use, but there IS ice cream so that’s a win. Goodreads

POSTCARDS FROM SUMMER, CYNTHIA PLATT

Don’t know much of anything about this title honestly. I saw it in an unhaul video and then next time I was out shopping it was sitting on, I think a Walmart shelf, so I grabbed it. Just cuz. Is this one any good? Goodreads

THE MATCHBREAKER SUMMER, ANNIE RAINS

A story set at a camp with THIS kind of adorable cover art? It was an automatic “yes” to add. Goodreads

THE AUSTEN ESCAPE, KATHERINE REAY

The picnic put it over the finish line plus it has some cute daisy detailing too! Also, in putting this together, I’m realizing I quite want to reread this. Goodreads

THE OHANA COTTAGE, MEGAN REINKING

Saw this one somewhere – on a list maybe? – and decided to give it a chance. Luckily I found it in paperback on a smaller retailer site and so I went for it. It’s not perhaps as summer-y as some of these others, but it earns its place among summer covers. Goodreads

DIAL A FOR AUNTIES, JESSE Q. SUTANTO

Bright coloring (!!) plus palm trees and this one is perfect. Don’t know if it’s set during the summertime, but its cover screams the season. Goodreads

LISTEN TO YOUR HEART, KASIE WEST

Like Morgan’s, many of Kasie’s are super summer-y as well. However I did pick this one because it features its characters at the lake and I think it really encapsulates the season. Goodreads

IF I’M BEING HONEST, EMILY WIBBERLEY + AUSTIN SIEGEMUND-BROKA

Shades of pink? Check! Palm trees? Check! Happy character? Check! This one is just charming and cute… now, tell me, does the story reflect its cover? Goodreads

    1. Certainly is fun! But then so far, I’ve quite liked everything I’ve read by Katherine Reay. Her books just have a solid storytelling quality. :)

  1. The Austen Escape sounds perfect to me for a summer vacation escape. It’s great how you have thought into the color themes and then made your picks. Pastel blues and pinks, bright oranges and yellows, all for a lovely summery feel.

    1. I’ve heard grand things about ‘Aunties,’ just haven’t made any time to give it a chance. Must remedy that though – and I will say, “The Austen Escape” is quite good. :) Thanks so much for the visit, Emily.

    1. It feels like summer colors are a must on a list like this. :) Also, I agree; and most of Morgan’s seems to fit this type of list too. Thanks, as always, for visiting, Lindsey.
