FALL 2022 NEW MOVIE RELEASES COMING TO A BOX OFFICE NEAR YOU
Despite the winning mentality that is stay home and stream everything, I’m someone who enjoys going out to the box office now and then. The one I go to isn’t some retro remodel of old school theaters or glamorous (that’d be a whole other experience), but I do enjoy seeing something I’m unusually excited for on that big screen. Though I haven’t been to see anything in weeks (and when I say weeks, I mean months and when I say months, I mean years), it’s still fun. That said, I thought it was time to take a look at the fall 2022 movie releases. Because who knows, maybe there’s something I’d see to break that long running streak.

🍿🎬🎥FALL 2022 NEW MOVIE RELEASES COMING TO A BOX OFFICE NEAR YOU 🎥🎬🍿LOOKING AT A FEW OF THE #MOVIERELEASES COMING SOON. #MOVIES #NEWMOVIES #JULIAROBERTS #PERIODROMANCE #PERIODRAMA #LIAMNEESON Share on XHonestly there just hasn’t been much of anything that I really wanted to spend time or money on. Meaning, there were things I was curious about, but given all the streaming I use, I knew it’d eventually show up somewhere. With exception to Downton Abbey, a title I would have liked to see, there’s just not much to entice me. That said, this seems like the perfect time to see what’s coming – hopefully with the end result of something worth seeing during the Christmas season!
FALL 2022 MOVIE RELEASES
SEE HOW THEY RUN – SEPTEMBER 16
Set in the 1950s this one is about the production of a play that ends when a murder is committed! The cast includes Sam Rockwell, Shirley Henderson, Saoirse Ronan, David Oyelowo, and Ruth Wilson.
THE RAILWAY CHILDREN – SEPTEMBER 23
I saw the 2000 film years ago as an adaptation from Masterpiece Theatre. In 2022, they’re remade the 1940s tale about children sent off for safer places during the war. Set in England, the film also has Jenny Agutter reprise her role from earlier adaptations.
EMILY – OCTOBER 14
A biopic that recounts the life of Emily Bronte. Joe Alwyn is a listed star alongside Emma Mackay.
WHITE BIRD – OCTOBER 14
I don’t really know much about this one, but it’s based on a novel by the author of Wonder. Helen Mirren stars as a woman who recounts her WWII childhood to her family. A childhood that includes protecting a boy who turned out to be her first love.
TICKET TO PARADISE – OCTOBER 21
Given how I’ve felt about recent rom-com type films lately, I don’t want to get my hopes up for Hollywood’s next attempt. However either way (good or bad reviews), I’m likely to see this. Julia Roberts and George Clooney play a divorced couple who must play nice during their daughter’s wedding weekend. Or will they? Kaitlyn Dever will co-star.
DEVOTION – NOVEMBER 21
Based on a true story, this follows two fighter pilots who would later become two of America’s best “wingmen of the Korean War.” It’s based on a nonfiction book and will feature Maverick star Glen Powell.
MARLOWE – DECEMBER 2
Liam Neeson reunites with Diane Kruger in this “noir” film about a detective who is hired to find an ex-lover of an heiress. It’s set in the 1930s and could be interesting just based on its early plot.
That’s a wrap! Of course, there are other BIG box office draws coming this fall. I’m just not loving how they sound or they aren’t a “me” film. Still in pursuit of a well rounded list, some of those include the following titles.
- ABOUT FATE – SEPTEMBER 9
- CATHERINE CALLED BIRDY – SEPTEMBER 23 (ON PRIME OCTOBER 7)
- AMSTERDAM – OCTOBER 7
- BLACK ADAM (DC) – OCTOBER 21
- BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER (MARVEL) – NOVEMBER 11
- MATILDA THE MUSICAL – DECEMBER 9 (ON NETFLIX DECEMBER 25)
- PUSS IN BOOTS: THE LAST WISH – DECEMBER 21
Would you see any of these? If so, which ones – and why? Do you see any stars you traditionally enjoy the roles they play? Do any of these stand out as being unique to you? Are you still a person who enjoys theater outings? Comment all the comments. Let’s chat.

I just recently saw the previews for TICKET TO PARADISE coming out October 21. It looked pretty good. I’m probably going to see it too, Rissi. Hopefully it will be great and not a disappointment. Fingers crossed!
Right!? I’m hoping so too, Alison. Most of the lighter movies (recently) have really disappointed. But I keep trying. :)
I rather want to see See How They Run. Maybe The Railway Children and Emily. And I have somewhat high hopes for Marlowe since it’s based on my favorite author Raymond Chandler’s wonderful mysteries.
Oo, all fun to hear, Rachel. I hope you enjoy all you’re excited for. I’m super curious for See How They Run and just because I tend to like Liam’s movies, I do think I’ll see Marlowe. Now you mention it, I’ve actually heard of Raymond Chandler, but where I cannot remember. ;)
What a coincidence that someone who has been reading my blogs for years would have heard of Raymond Chandler! ;-)
