β#XMASβ: THE CHRISTMAS MOVIE SOCIAL MEDIA EXPERTS WILL RELATE TO
Making the most of the current social climate, the Hallmark original #Xmas works to create a real story and bringing the cheer.
#Xmas (2022) Hallmark TV Film Review
Building a brand and business is the life Jen Taylor (Clare Bowen) has. But sheβs solely a behind the scenes girl where her face isnβt the brand. She lets her skill as a designer speak which is how she likes it. Her sister has other ideas. A partner in the business and store with Jen, her sister sees a golden opportunity when a popular design brand hosts a contest looking for new talent to partner with. Trouble with this plan is, Jen isnβt someone social media will connect with. Sheβs awkward and she has nothing β like a husband, to cover this.
This is where one little white lie involving her best friend Max (Brant Daugherty) turns into a big gain⦠and possible loss.

Itβs all about a platform and growing and finding connection with the audience. Itβs kind of like a modernized version of Christmas in Connecticut. In other words, the concept isnβt new and yet we still find reason to laugh and smile over this entire mess of Jen’s life that ends up being fun and good.
The cast is pretty good as well. I havenβt liked everything Iβve seen Daugherty in, but heβs fine and Bowen makes her debut (at least as a lead) on Hallmark in a role she plays well. I relate to Jen in some ways, which was interesting and makes for more of a “connection” with a character. Additionally, the wardrobe is quite fabulous. I love all of the sweaters and their unique colors or patterns. Everything just looks good for its setting. Additionally, this is one that doesnβt go all in on filming all the usual Christmas traditions. We don’t see a traditional cookie making scene or the normal decorating sequence. Itβs refreshing to have some step away from this just because we see it so often.
I donβt like everything about #Xmas (including its title though I do understand it) but itβs cute and an entertaining watch.
