Ranking the 2020 Hallmark Christmas Movies, Part 2

I realize that I did say my ranking of the Lifetime Christmas movies [part two] would be my last rankings, but then I decided, we cannot not celebrate a part two of the Hallmark films! Plus, this will help in the 2021 Christmas season so that we don’t have as many titles to weed through. Thus we begin a Hallmark Christmas Movie Rankings, part 2.

LIST | Seven of the Best Kensi and Deeks’ Moments (OTP Favorite!)

Like our Lifetime part 2 shenanigans, first I’ll look at how I rank the first part titles (across both networks), then I’ll share which titles I’m ranking in this round. Then, to cap everything off, I’ll take a look at whether or not today’s rankings would much change part one’s! Of course, I’ll also want to hear your thoughts, so make sure to share in the comment section.

Now, I will also promise you that, with exception to a few additional movie reviews sprinkled in here and there (for the archives), the Christmas-y content is about to its end. Really, I promise. In the meantime, I simply had to give Hallmark it’s “part two” due because fair is fair.

HALLMARK CHANNEL, PART ONE RANKINGS

Ranking from least to most favorite

12: Chateau Christmas ● 11: Jingle Bell Bride ● 10: Heart of the Holidays ● 9: One Royal Holiday ● 8: A Christmas Tree Grows in Colorado (*This does have a minor LGBTQ character) 7: Christmas by Starlight (*This does have a minor LGBTQ character) 6: Christmas with the Darlings (*This does have a minor LGBTQ character) 5: Christmas in Vienna ● 4: The Christmas Waltz ● 3: Five Star Christmas ● 2: Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater ● 1: On the 12th Date of Christmas

HALLMARK MOVIES & MYSTERIES, PART ONE RANKINGS

8: Christmas Tree Lane ● 7: Meet Me At Christmas ● 6: Godwink Christmas: First Love, Second Chances ● 5: The Christmas Ring ● 4: Deliver By Christmas ● 3: The Christmas Bow ● 2: Cranberry Christmas ● 1: Holly and Ivy

HALLMARK CHRISTMAS MOVIE RANKINGS, PART 2

[PART 2] TITLES I RANK | 1: Christmas She Wrote (2020) | 2: Cross Country Christmas | 3: If I Only Had Christmas (2020)

Ranking from least to most favorite

3: Christmas She Wrote

Ranking the three additional Hallmark Channel titles that I saw post publishing my first set of rankings it a touch one because, honestly, I like all three of these. In fact, much to my surprise, Christmas She Wrote may actually be one of the best Danica McKellar has even been in. It’s sweet and fun, and that’s what makes it so entertaining to watch. *This does have an LGBTQ character

2: Cross Country Christmas

Rachel Leigh Cook is always a delight no matter the films she stars in! I love her acting, and it’s fun to see her with another co-star in this adventurous kind of rom-com.The film is TV-G; this one contains nothing that might bother conservative viewers

1: If I Only Had Christmas

Candace Cameron Bure’s films are always good. This one is more fun not only because it’s a loose Wizard of Oz re-telling (making this Bure’s second seasonal re-telling), but also because we get to see It’s the Most Wonderful Time of Year’s Warren Christie in the leading man role. The film is TV-G; this one contains nothing that might bother conservative viewers hallmark christmas movie rankings part 2

All in all, I feel as though I’ve watched more ‘Movies & Mysteries’ titles this year than the Hallmark Channel. But maybe not. I don’t know, but truthfully, they’ve been, for the most part, so very good this season!

HALLMARK MOVIES & MYSTERIES

[PART 2] TITLES I RANK | 1: The Angel Tree | 2: A Glenbrooke Christmas | 3: A Little Christmas Charm | 4: Project Christmas Wish | 5: Swept Up by Christmas | 6: Time for Us to Come Home For Christmas | 7: USS Christmas

Ranking from least to most favorite

7: Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas

Nothing really “wrong” with this one, it’s just more of a Christmas Tree Lane or Meet Me At Christmas kind of title for me. Nothing too special about it. The film is TV-G; this one contains nothing that might bother conservative viewers

6: A Glenbrooke Christmas

This is based off of the novel Secrets by Robin Jones Gunn, but to their credit, Hallmark lists the story as being “inspired by” the book since it’s really not a straight up adaptation. There’s enough to recognize the plot, but mostly, it’s a story onto its own. It’s fun to see Antonio Cupo and Autumn Reeser reunite though! The film is TV-G; this one contains nothing that might bother conservative viewers hallmark christmas movie rankings part 2

5: A Little Christmas Charm

This one is sweet, but not a “oh my gosh” kind of favorite. Ashley Greene joins Brendan Penny (of Chesapeake Shores) in a very similar to The Christmas Ring plot. Only in this story, it’s a charm bracelet the two team up to uncover the secret of. The film is TV-G; this one contains nothing that might bother conservative viewers

4: The Angel Tree

This is favorite Jill Wagner’s 2020 title and while really sweet, it’s also not a favorite. I’ve seen this plot (a kind of secret santa who grants small, and big wishes left on a tree) more times than I can count. The film is TV-G; this one contains nothing that might bother conservative viewers

3:  Swept Up by Christmas

This title is lovely. It features a former military man hero, and Lindy Booth returns to the network. Plus, the wordplay is just… fun! The film is TV-G; this one contains nothing that might bother conservative viewers hallmark christmas movie rankings part 2

2: Project Christmas Wish

Pretty sure this along with title number three are tied. This film is really quite good despite its (normal) trope flaws. The film is TV-G; this one contains nothing that might bother conservative viewers

1: USS Christmas

Have to place this one in first because of the military themes. Plus, I also like Jen Lilley, and the approach the story takes (putting a reporter on a Tiger Cruise) is more unique than most military romances I see. The film is TV-G; this one contains nothing that might bother conservative viewers

So, now the question, would I change any of my top rankings from part one? The new part two titles I’ve seen from Hallmark Channel would definitely mess with my top 6 rankings of part one. They’re all charming in their own way. In regards to the ‘Movies & Mysteries’ titles, they too would likely change. I know my first three picks together would mess up my first four rankings from part one, including possibly bumping out my top pick Holly & Ivy.

That’s a wrap on the Hallmark Christmas Movie Rankings, Part 2! Tell me, which of these have you seen? How would you rank these or any in our ‘part one’ feature? Is there any left that I MUST make time for?
