FIVE MORE MAGICAL ROMANCE MOMENTS FROM CHRISTMAS MOVIES
Last year we featured a list of some of my most favorite and magical romance Christmas movie moments. This year seems an unsurmountable task to challenge last year’s simply because, well, we all know that each year a list like this is made, there is bound to be less options. Additionally, I am selective when it comes to lists like this. By this I mean that, yes, while there is a thousand Hallmark movies with sweet moments, I try to find the Christmas movies that have really good and the more memorable romance scenes.
LIST | 19 OF THE (MOSTLY) OLD FASHION STYLE WHODUNIT MYSTERY MOVIES
All this to say, I’m going to try my utmost for this list to feature scenes and moments not included in our list from the year prior. Let’s get to doing the research and see what we can find.
MAGICAL ROMANCE CHRISTMAS MOVIE MOMENTS
THE DANCE from ELOISE AT CHRISTMASTIME
Used to watch this one all the time. While mostly just sweet and fun, plus featuring Julie Andrews, the film also is a story about reunited would be lovers who share an almost Broadway style dance as they reminisce about their shared love of music and performance… and past. It’s just cute and puts on a very old fashioned style that we miss from some films today.
THE FIREPLACE from BORROWED HEARTS
Another in our magical romance Christmas movie moments, this is a long ago pick. This one about a woman who pretends to be married to a wealthy man in order to close his business deal. The scene in this film where she wraps gifts and they share a near kiss is really sweet. It’s also perfect in terms of its lighting because this helps up the romance ante, as does the fireplace!

Most of my features of The Holiday is of Cameron Diaz and Jude Law’s scenes. But today I’m doing something different. Though I will also say, despite what I thought was pretty universal love for this one, I have seen at least two people recently saw they don’t like this movie. It follows two woman swapping houses during Christmas, and this scene shows Kate Winslet and Jack Black playing at they sit at a piano where he plays her a song that would be her if she were music. It’s not “wildly” romantic, but is a solid and sweet moment and perhaps the only “real” sense of romance between the two.
THE REUNION from ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS
This is one of the few movies from the 90s that I watched every year. Once upon a time I didn’t watch a revolving door of Hallmark films and thinking back, I’m realizing it’s been years since I watched this. This is about two kids trying to reunite their parents. The reunion scene where dad tells mom that he is still in love with her, using a loving pet nickname during the declaration, is charming. magical romance christmas movie moments
TWO WEEKS from A SEASON FOR MIRACLES
It’s been quite some time since I would have seen A Season for Miracles. It has a special place in my Christmas movie memories though as a favorite. The plot is about a woman fleeing the possibility of the kids she loves being put in foster care and the small town who though unaware of her past, kindly rallies around her. This scene is between our leading lady and the local sheriff as they get personal, and his request that she gives him a chance.

I think the piano scene in The Holiday is adorable! Dare I say, I think this is the most romantic scene in the movie. I know Cameron Diaz and Jude Law have a more overt romance, but the piano scene featured a romantic gesture from knowing one another. In a way it’s saying, “your heart and your character is beautiful to me.” Simple and sweet.
I agree that the piano scene is CHARMING, Chanel! I think Cameron and Jude’s story is definitely “bigger” in the romance department and I do melt every time I see the scene between Cameron and the two girls too. Not “romantic” in traditional ways, but I do think that sequence is lovely, too. :)
