‘PARIS, WINE AND ROMANCE’: UNEXPECTED ROMANCE IN CITY OF LIGHT

Travel and new romance combine in this Hallmark romance. With a favorite star in the lead, Paris, Wine and Romance, is a romance that takes her to new places.

Paris, Wine and Romance (2019) Hallmark TV Film Review

Taking over the winery her father once ran, Isabella (Jen Lilley) is ambitious and hopeful she can make a big success of their best wine. She believes it’s that good. However, to get recognition and representation, the advice is she needs to enter local Oregon competitions and win. Unbeknownst to her she is entered into a Paris competition.

While there, Isabella not only delights in the charms of the city of light, but also meets Jacques (Dan Jeannotte), a charming Parisian who happens to be her competition.

Jen Lilley is one of my favorite TV romance movie stars. She plays the effervescent and likable character we find easy to root on. Some will be bothered by the casting of Dan as a French dude. It didn’t overly bother me, and he fine in the role. He and Jen do well in their respective roles and together, and though it’s lesser than some Paris romances, the scenes of them seeing Paris offer a break from the wine elements. The film has a bit of drama to end which isn’t always popular. Even so, the film still works and is fun to watch.

Though something I’ve had lying in wait where I stream for a long time, the film is sweet. The script holds to the usual standard of doing the right thing even when the opposite would be easier. Upholding some morals and values is part of the charm of these films. This one keeps to holding many values like fairness. The Paris setting is pretty too and is of course, another experience. Not one that I’ll count as the best with Jen Lilley, though still worth a watch if you’re a fan.

Content: the film is TV-G and is the standard old style for content. Nothing outside of the usual sweet kiss or two (or three).
