THE ELEVEN BOOKS ON MY SUMMER TBR LIST I’D LIKE TO ENJOY
We are here, back at it with another seasonal TBR list. This go round it’s our Summer 2023 TBR.
LIST | SOME OF THE STORIES THAT LOOK LIKE SUMMERTIME IN A BOOK
🌴⛵☀️THE ELEVEN BOOKS ON MY SUMMER TBR LIST I’D LIKE TO ENJOY🌴⛵☀️ Talking some #SummerReading options! What's on your #TBR? #TopTenList #TopTen #Books #BookList #TopTenTuesday #SummerReads #SummerRead Share on XThe same “rules” apply to this years TBR as any year. The chances of me reading all or any of these is probably slim. But what I did with this list is include a selection of books I started to read and never finished in the hopes perhaps this will inspire me to at least finish these books. And I like to think maybe I’ll read one (or two) even if only as a kind of “make” myself read one. Plus, I genuinely think many of these sound really good, while others seem like they could be fun and quick reads to enjoy during those hazy humid summer days. Let’s meet the lineup.
SUMMER 2023 TBR
JULIETA AND THE ROMEOS, MARIA E. ANDREU
This one just looks cute. I’m not sure where I first saw it but am assuming it was through Goodreads when I was collecting book options for giveaway features. Or something of the sort. Goodreads
PICTURE PERFECT BOYFRIEND, BECKY DEAN
Yes this one was on my list two weeks ago (as is another one or two) but I mean, come on?? It looks super cute and someone on Instagram told me they liked Becky’s novel from last year, so… yeah. I’m curious. Goodreads
ALONG FOR THE RIDE, SARAH DESSEN
I mean this is an oldie release, but it’s one I started to read. I don’t know when exactly I started this one but I know I was reading it last summer because I had it with me on a trip. Here’s hoping I finally finish this. Update: Between writing this/formatting it and it publishing, I did finish this one. I’m leaving it on the list though to show I made an inch of progress. Goodreads
AN IMPROBABLE SEASON, ROSALYN EVES
This one follows a London season for a series of characters in Regency England. Goodreads
FAMOUS FOR A LIVING, MELISSA FERGUSON
Though I’ve seen more than one reader of Melissa’s books say her cover art (which is lighter and rom-com) and the story don’t really match (she writes more women’s fiction), I’m still curious. Her plots sound really interesting and her books are super popular in many ways. Plus I think it’s cool she’s grown her social medias so much. The cover looks very summer 2023 TBR fitting, too. Goodreads
DEAR HENRY, LOVE EDITH, BECCA KINZER
I’ve had this one a little while and it sounds really charming. Goodreads
QUEEN BEE, AMALIE HOWARD
Know almost nothing about this one outside of its synopsis of course. But it does sound like an interesting read and one that perhaps could be enjoyable. It has revenge as part of its plot which I don’t always like, but we’ll see how it shakes out – at least if I read the book. Goodreads
ONE TRUE LOVES, TAYLOR JENKINS REID
Adding this one because it’s been adapted into a feature film, and if I don’t first read the book (which has been on my shelf for eons), I probably won’t ever. Goodreads
THE HEART SHOT, EMILY SCHEIDER
Just saw this one, or recently, on Instagram and after some reading I thought it sounded good. Plus that cover is awfully cute, and it looks summer reading appropriate, too. Goodreads
AFTER SHE FALLS, CARMEN SCHOBER
When I started to read this I cannot say, but it’s been a long time. What I read I really like and I admire that it’s a different direction from the typical Christian fiction novel. Now I just have to get back into reading it. Update: Same as I mention about Sarah’s, I also finished this one. Got to leave it because even small progress is progress!! Goodreads
THE HAPPY LIFE OF ISADORA BENTLEY, COURTNEY WALSH
Courtney’s book looks like it would be a fun and cute read, so we’re hopeful it will be just this! Plus I think she describes the book as a happy read which is my cup of tea. Plus I had the book on preorder and recently got it so that’s a sign to read it, too, right? Goodreads

Linking Up with That Artsy Reader Girl June 20: Books on My Summer 2023 to-Read List
Heh, I have the same problem with seasonal TBR lists!
Such a challenge! But I’m hoping I’ll read a FEW of these. :)
Several of these sound really fun! I’m absolutely terrible at sticking to a list of any kind. Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Same here. But I do love putting these lists together. They’re fun!
Along for the Ride is a great summer read.
It’s a fun read! And I agree. Perfect for summer.
Looks like a fun lineup. Enjoy!
Happy TTT!

Thanks, Susan! That’s the goal. :)
Melissa’s books are hit or miss for me. I did request Famous for a Living from the library and hope to read it before it has to go back. I also picked up Courtney’s book from the library TODAY, and can’t wait to read that one too! I NEED to make more time for reading, LOL!
I have heard that Melissa’s are different than what the cover suggests. They’re more women’s lit vs rom-com (which is what I think the cover art usually implies). But I’m still curious to read her books, and hope to enjoy them. I know what you mean though! I read one Christian fiction author a while back with a debut I ADORED and then the followup wasn’t a favorite. Hope you enjoy Courtney’s! We both have lots of reading to do, Cindy. ;)
Yes, we do :)
:)
Dear Henry, Love Edith is such a cute read. I loved it. I hope you love it, too! Great list. Happy reading!
I’m SO glad to know this, Nicole. Cannot wait. :)
I hope you enjoy whichever of these books you read-if any!
Thanks so much, Jo! So do I. I did enjoy the ones (on this list) that I finally finished reading. :)
While I enjoyed reading Famous for a Living, the cover is slightly misleading. The book is set during the first few months of the year in Montana, which means lots of cold and snow! It’s not a rom-com, but it’s still enjoyable.

I’ve heard this about Melissa’s novels, Pam. The covers are different than the stories. It’s okay in terms of the story is still good (hopefully!!), but yeah, I would definitely peg her novels as rom-coms. :)
