THE UPCOMING & ANTICIPATED BOOKS RELEASING JULY – DECEMBER

We are back at the list making game with another annual list. This time around the question is the anticipated releases for the second half of the year. Before I’ve even started my search, I’m already quite skeptical of what I’ll find. This because I’m being more and more selective, and perhaps going back to a couple weeks ago when I talked about the industry changes as part of the reason why I’m not really reading right now. But I’m going to hope I can at least find a few that make me curious if not wholly sold.

On this list is going to be a variety. From young adult (which I feel less and less curious or interested by) to Christian fiction and hopefully even a contemporary or two since it’s my most favorite genre. Time to see what we can find!

ANTICIPATED RELEASES FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR

BELLEGARDE, JAMIE LILAC (JULY)

I know almost nothing about this book but something about it seems like it could be interesting. Or maybe its just the pretty pastel of the cover art. I do have a feeling that it will be one of those historical novels that isn’t faithful to its era. Goodreads

ALL THAT’S LEFT TO SAY, EMERY LORD (JULY)

It’s been forever since Emery released something. I don’t love the look or sound of this one, but I’m reserving judgement and will read more about it as its release edges closer. Having really liked The Start of Me and You, I am still curious about this. Goodreads

GARDEN OF THE MIDNIGHTS, HANNAH LINDER (OCTOBER)

This one caught my eye because of its – surprise – cover art! The design is just so sweet and pretty and delicate. The plot is all about secrets and scandal and a murder, too! Goodreads

JULIA MONROE BEGINS AGAIN, REBEKAH MILLET (OCTOBER)

This follows a forty-year-old woman who lived an unexpected life and now her kids are off in college, she’s ready to focus on her business not the reappearance of the man who broke her heart twenty some years ago. Goodreads

HEIDI LUCY LOSES HER MIND, GRACIE RUTH MITCHELL (OCTOBER)

I haven’t read book one in this series, but it seems like it’d be fun reading. This is book two and also, this title is fun! Goodreads

ALL’S FAIR IN LOVE AND CHRISTMAS, SARAH MONZON (SEPTEMBER)

This cover alone is reason to be curious about this one. I always add four, five, six new Christmas books to my shelf each year. Now I just need to read them. Goodreads

BRYNN AND SEBASTIAN HATE EACH OTHER, BETHANY TURNER (SEPTEMBER)

Don’t know much about this but I am curious about it. It’s all about news professionals who don’t exactly get along. Goodreads

GHOSTED: A NORTHANGER ABBEY NOVEL, AMANDA QUAIN (JULY)

These books intrigue me. They’re retellings of Jane Austen novels. I have the first in this series but haven’t read it. And yet, naturally, I’m including this second one which re-tells Northanger Abbey. Goodreads

A CROSS-COUNTRY WEDDING, COURTNEY WALSH (NOVEMBER)

Is it weird to include this one when I haven’t read Walsh’s first book A Cross-Country Christmas? Maybe, but I have read her novels in the past and they’re good, so… hoping this is too! Goodreads

Will you be reading any of these? Have you? Do you like any of the authors? Do any stand out to you? What would be on your anticipated releases list? Let’s talk about this and all the things in the comments!
