REVIEW: Likely inspired by the countless royal romance tropes audiences continue to fall for, this novel by Melody Carlson is sweet. The difference here is there is a more serious angle, though the fairy tale elements do balance it out and brings that “happier” reading.
BOOK REVIEW | ‘TEXT FOR YOU’ BOOK REVIEW: TOUCHING STORY ABOUT MOVING ON
Technically a novella, this is a quick read, something I appreciate. The story moves fast, and our heroine begins her adventure before many pages pass. I like Adelaide and find her story sympathetic. She grows up knowing nothing about her father only to experience his life in a way that will require another goodbye. The plot is more about family dynamics than romance, so anyone wanting an epic kind of love story will find this lacking.
The book is sweet and simple, but is a pretty hardback with an elegant cover which would make this a pretty gift if you have a book lover on your list. If you enjoy Melody’s seasonal novellas (she also has one centered on Valentine’s Day) or just want a sweet read to enjoy during the Christmas season, you may find just that inside the pages of A Royal Christmas.
