Mailey) continues to end each relationship in a series of disaster. You see, she has a curse on her. Successful in other ways, she wonders if finding love is something to give up on. What I didn’t anticipate is just how darling it is. Famous from the Hallmark TV show Chesapeake Shores, Laci isn’t someone I’ve seen in a leading lady role, but after the quirky role of Jess O’Brien, I wanted to see her in something else. Turns out she’s fun in this role too, and it “fits” her nicely. Marco has been in everything from Christmas movies to the Netflix show Virgin River.
When I say this movie is fun, I mean it’s one of the best of its genre peers in a long time. This excluding Christmas movies because we all know they’re a whole thing on their own. The script details that callback to prior conversations, the opposite personalities of our leads, the cute banter and full circle ending, all of it adds up to this; Betty’s Bad Luck in Love is one of the best.
