The Professional Bridesmaid (2023) Hallmark TV Film Review
Building up a business is all a part of the plan Maggie (Hunter King) is working towards. Her business now is doing well, but as the only employee, she’s a little busier than she’d like. Her business is to work as a bridesmaid for hire where she does anything and everything to ensure that a bride’s day is as stress free as can be.
TV FILM REVIEW | ‘BETTY’S BAD LUCK IN LOVE’: A SURPRISINGLY CUTE ROMANTIC-COMEDY
‘THE PROFESSIONAL BRIDESMAID’ IS GOOD SURPRISE ROMANCE. #HunterKing stars in this #Hallmark #romance film. #RomCom #Hallmarkies Share on XHunter King has been making herself a staple on this network. From romantic-comedies to a one and done turn in the mystery Nikki and Nora, she’s not an unfamiliar face. Chandler Massey too was in a prior Christmas film that memory tells me I liked. However… I don’t really care for him in this role. I’m not sure if it was mistakes in filming or just something minor about him and King together on screen, but he’s hard to take as a serious (in a good way) leading man. the professional bridesmaid
However, I do have to give his character brownie points. The script does an excellent job using the writing to show us these two are interested in each other. They admit to “liking” each other and HE ASKS HER OUT! For that, there is a gold star. It’s a cute aspect of the film and helps us to invest more in them as a possible “end game” since we see and “know” the interest is there.
Beyond petty complaints, The Professional Bridesmaid is actually fun. Way more than I expect. It’s like this mashup of personalities between some of our favorite romcoms like 27 Dresses meets The Wedding Planner and bringing it back to its network home, the old school Undercover Bridesmaid film. Since the plot and general concept of the film did make me happier than anticipated, I would say this was quite enjoyable.

Content: nothing to note beyond the usual TV-G rating. There’s kissing but nothing out of the normal TV-G “old school” Hallmark format.
