POP CULTURE NEWS ONE HUNDRED and TWENTY-SIX
In an upcoming action-comedy flick Reacher breakout star Alan Ritchson will star with Kevin James in a film currently titled Playdate. It will follow two stay-at-home dads who organize a day for their kids to play only for James’ character to discover Ritchson’s is “loose cannon,” and they must spend the day on the run “facing a deadly conspiracy.” Shooting will begin in March, and I have to say, given how serious a role Reacher is for Ritchson, it might be fun to see him in a kind of role maybe similar to Vin Diesel in The Pacifier.
Taylor Swift (again) has announced another edition of her upcoming album The Tortured Poets Department. Following ‘The Manuscript’ (bonus song one) and ‘The Bolter,’ the most recent bonus is ‘The Albatross.’ Of course, because of the meaning it has in describing a person (something burdensome that impedes action or progress), social media users are again obsessing over how revenge-y this will be to Swift’s ex. I really cannot anymore with all this. He made mistakes. But FYI, so did Taylor over the course of the relationship, and one was acting like he was her everything only to now (if these songs are about him) turn it around to make him out as horrible.

DISCUSSION | THE TAYLOR SWIFT EFFECT: WHAT IS IT?
In recent roundups, we mentioned and shared images of Lindsay Lohan’s upcoming Netflix rom-com Irish Wish. The film has a PG-13 rating and now, a trailer, too. If you aren’t like me and you want to see the feel of this one, the trailer is available for one’s viewing pleasure.
Masterpiece Theatre has given, just on the heels of its season four finale, All Creatures Great and Small, a two season (each consisting of six episodes and Christmas specials, too) renewal bring it up to six seasons by the time we see these upcoming two seasons. Plus, rumor has it Callum Woodhouse who plays Tristan.
Are you a fan of Virgin River? If so, its world is potentially about to get bigger! Netflix is exploring the possibility of a spinoff series about main character Mel’s parents. Honestly, I’d probably watch it (although first I have to catch up on the last three seasons of Virgin River!), but I’m not a fan of prequel series when we see the “after” if that makes sense.
Reports swirled this week that Amazon would be shutting down its free platform, now that Prime has ads, Freevee. Since, Amazon has said in a statement that there are no plans to change Freevee, though we did learn that Leverage: Redemption, a show Freevee was home too, would move to Prime for its upcoming season.
