THE TEN QUICK READ BOOKS TO DISCOVER WHEN TIME IS SHORT

When it comes to page count, I’m a fan of short novels. For some reason, you hit that 300 page park, and those final 50, 60 or 70 some pages just feel like they extend. Since I don’t read much of anything right now, it doesn’t really matter what I prefer, but maybe helping to get me back into reading about the ten quick read books we know about. Or a page count somewhere thereabouts.

THE TEN QUICK READ BOOKS TO DISCOVER WHEN TIME IS SHORT. Talking short, quick reads on our bookshelf! #Readers #Reader #Reading #ShortBooks #QuickReads #TopTen #BookList #TopTenTuesday Share on X

This is good for those who don’t have much patience but want to read some books. Or maybe if you’re particular about meeting your book count at the end of the year, it can be helpful to add a short page count novel to your final month reading. This week’s list inspired me to take a look at the books on my shelf that perhaps would fit this. Honestly, I’m not sure how many I have, but we’re going to find out and I think some of these I’ve even already read. Let’s meet the fitting candidates.

SHORT 150-PAGE BOOKS TO READ

CHRISTMAS AT WHITEFRIARS, ELIZABETH CAMDEN

I don’t think I’ve read this one yet, but I have it on my bookshelf and once upon a time I was quite fond of Camden’s novels. Hoping this seasonal novel is the same. Goodreads

JENNIFER, DEE HENDERSON

I’ve not read this one either despite loving the series it prequels, which is the O’Malley family, a series of suspense novels following an adoptive group of siblings in various medical or law enforcement careers. Goodreads

A DECEMBER BRIDE, DENISE HUNTER

The novella that inspired the Hallmark movie A December Bride, this one was something I enjoyed reading. Goodreads

THE RIVAL KISS, JESSICA KATE

At 33 pages, this takes the term short read to a new level. But I cannot tell you how excited I am to see a new novel by Jessica ready to release. This is just a kind of prequel to her full length novel (which we helped to share the cover for back in the fall) which releases at the end of February. Goodreads

A PAINTED SUMMER, AMY MATAYO

Part of a novella collection in a kind of Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants theme, the collection follows four friends, each of which are written by a different author. I couldn’t remember which story I liked best, so I looked back at my review, and seemed to love the leading man in Amy’s story, so we’ll feature A Painted Summer on our list today. Goodreads

SHADOWED, DANI PETTREY

I haven’t read this, but it’s a prequel to Pettrey’s Alaskan Courage series. I kind of have a thing about reading a prequel (or watching) when I know what happens, so that’s probably why I never read this, but it’s only 120-some pages, so it’d be a quick read. Goodreads

AS EASY AS RIDING A BIKE & ONE CHRISTMAS IN WINTER, BELL RENSHAW

One of these is under 150 pages, the other slightly over, but you won’t find anything much more charming than these contemporary romance novellas. ‘Bike’ on Goodreads | ‘Winter’ on Goodreads

TAKE A CHANCE ON ME & THEN CAME YOU, BECKY WADE

Becky’s stories are always my favorite, and sometimes prior to a new series, she’ll write and release a novella that ties into that upcoming series. These are two of those, and are something I thoroughly enjoyed. ‘Chance’ on Goodreads | ‘You’ on Goodreads

    1. I never read the Sisterhood books, but this one is a kind of readalike type story that originally came in a collection of three other books. They are all fun and I do love the Sisterhood stories if the movies are anything close to the books. :)

  1. Great finds! This TTT prompt has made me realize that I don’t read enough novellas, so I’m taking notes and looking for new potential books from everyone else. Adding the Becky Wade books to my list!

  2. Great list this week! I love the feeling of flying through a shorter book, especially when I don’t have a lot of time. I’m not familiar with any of these, but the covers are so pretty and they really sound interesting.
