POP CULTURE NEWS ONE HUNDRED and FORTY-THREE

If you love Yellowstone, you might have loved to see that the final half of the fifth (aka the final) season will debut on November 10th. There’s also a teaser trailer to pair with the news. In more Yellowstone news, series star, Costner, also confirmed on his X (aka Twitter) page, he won’t be returning to the drama. He shared in a GQ interview that the week-long work week story also was way overplayed, though scheduling was a factor.

In a recent interview, Matthew McConaughey shared that he almost did something else after his string of rom-com roles. I didn’t read the interview, but read an article recap, so take that with a grain of salt (stories are rarely accurate), but in the recap, he said that he wanted to do something different. I can respect this and understand actors wanting to try something different creatively, but what I liked was that he acknowledges that the rom-com genre was good to him. It’s true. They were part of what gave him his box office draw.

Actor, known to bookworms in roles like The Hunger Games or Pride and Prejudice, Donald Sutherland passed away this past week. His son, Kiefer, also an actor (best known for 24) shared the sad news on social media.

In a non specific pop culture news story, has anyone noticed that famous actors and actresses are kind of “running” favorite and famous films for us? By this I mean in an interview, they reminisce about their famous roles and the bad or negative of a scene or role. The latest is Kate Winslet who is discussing her role of Rose and Titanic, specifically that famous kiss with co-star Leonardo DiCaprio. She discussed how awkward it was to film. Honestly, I can appreciate many of our favorite moments in cinema were challenging to film, but at the same time, doesn’t it kind of take away the “magic” of the film to hear actors talk about this? Or is that just me?
