‘SAVORING PARIS’: A FEEL-GOOD STORY ABOUT REDISCOVING JOY
Travel and romance (plus good food, too) combine in Savoring Paris, another story from Hallmark.
Savoring Paris (2024) Hallmark TV Film Review
Passed over for a promotion at work and feeling the burn of the corporate world, Ella (Bethany Joy Lenz) makes an impulsive choice to return again to the world where she was once quite happy. Going to Paris for two weeks sounds like heaven. But once there, and with some convincing from her kind Parisian roommate, Ella decides to extend her stay and embarks on adventures, including a love story (or two!), she doesn’t expect.
TV FILM REVIEW | ‘TWO TICKETS TO PARADISE’: SOULMATES FIND EACH OTHER ON HONEYMOON
One of the films I had wanted to see when it made its debut, this Hallmark is one of the better titles I’ve seen this year. It’s not an unusual story but there’s something about the atmosphere and experience that makes it stand out. It’s warm and charming and I quite loved it. There’s an ease between the characters and I love that they seem to also have fun playing these roles.
‘SAVORING PARIS’: A FEEL-GOOD STORY ABOUT REDISCOVING JOY. #BethanyJoyLenz stars in #SavoringParis a film from #Hallmark. #Romance #Movies #Paris Share on XEverything from the wardrobe (even if it does become a little too stereotypical) to the cast and the places we see Ella explore makes this one stand apart. Savoring Paris’ writing is even pretty good even with the tropes some of us find exasperating. Inspired by a novel by Victoria Brownlee (which does sound different than the script), it’s Josie Botkin who pens that script. Also known for peer films like Never Been Chris’d and 3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost, I admire that Botkin is trying to write different concepts even within the confines of the genre. The whole declaration misunderstanding is a bit out of proportion, but I like the rest so I deal with it.
The film also has some themes that I think many will deeply understand. This one is all about yummy food, being a feel-good story, exploring and romance, and it’s all lovely.
