‘TWO TICKETS TO PARADISE’: SOULMATES FIND EACH OTHER ON HONEYMOON

by

Really cute, Two Tickets to Paradise is a fun romantic comedy if you like TV romance stories.

Two Tickets to Paradise (2022) TV Film Review

This should be the happiest day in the life of Hannah Holt and Josh Wyatt (Ashley Williams, Ryan Paevey). They’re about to say I do and live happily ever after. Just not with each other. What they do share in common is both are dumped just before they’re about to make those vows.

When they happen to meet following this, they make a pact. They still have to go on their respective honeymoons. Thing is, Josh doesn’t have a trip so before they part, Hannah makes him promise to book a trip and she’ll take her planned honeymoon solo. Serendipitously they end up in the same place, and find perhaps they have more than serendipity in common.

A film that was a part of Hallmark’s 2022 Summer lineup, this one is actually quite entertaining. The dramatics of being dumped are kind of silly and “over the top,” but that’s also part of what makes the film funny. Ashley Williams (we have to admire her going full on running mascara!) actually is good in this film where prior to this I haven’t seen her play a role I love. She gets the tears and dramatics going over her annoyance with her ex, and again, it’s fun. It plays well for the rom-com vibes. There’s also awkwardness here and there, which I know annoys some people. So if that’s something you don’t like, Two Tickets to Paradise is best to skip.

Some, if not all of this, I find (mostly) endearing because let’s be real, we all have those awkward I-cannot-believe-I-just-said that experiences. Moving beyond this, one thing I don’t think any of us can find fault with is the scenery. It’s gorgeous, and I love the lushness and beauty of the vacation. If you like armchair adventure romance or stories about moving forward, this one is a good time. It’s also got all the summer-y vibes if you’re looking to keep the season going a little bit longer.

You can stream Two Tickets to Paradise on Hallmark Movies Now, at publication.
