Returning to the romantic comedy genre is Dermot Mulroney in the described “under the radar” rom-com Perfectly Imperfect. He co-leads the roles with Malin Akerman, also no stranger to rom-coms with roles in titles like 27 Dresses or The Proposal, and Brian Austin Green. Mulroney, of course, is famous for his role in My Best Friend’s Wedding and later, he also played in The Wedding Date. Mulroney is also set to be the new fire chief in NBC’s Chicago Fire this fall.
Though previously it was announced that Candace Cameron Bure would be filming a second Christmas film, her first is A Road Less Travelled which she’s already wrapped, the original script she was going to film (Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells) has been shelved. Instead, now she’ll film Home Sweet Christmas with Cameron Mathison, the same co-star for the ‘Wedding’ title she was to film. All of these are set for Great American Family. She’ll also EP this film. pop culture news one hundred and fifty-two
LIST | FALL 2024 TV PREVIEW: THE NEW DRAMAS AND SITCOMS OF THE SEASON
After months of speculation, rumors and headlines this past week say that Jennifer Lopez has filed for divorce from Ben Affleck. The pair reunited after first being a couple over twenty years ago (during which time both married other people), and finally married in 2022.
If you scroll pop culture headlines or are a part of our mailing list, you’d have seen Prime Video’s latest cancellation. We of course speak of their fantasy adventure adaptation My Lady Jane. The streamer cancelled it mere weeks after its debut. We did have thoughts about this one, which we’ve shared. While I probably would have given a “second season” a chance, I also would have wanted it to be the story of another book in the world My Lady Jane is from. pop culture news one hundred and fifty-two
If you were part of the obsessive love of Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik, you may be happy hearing he’ll be a part of the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars.
According to WSJ the missing from CW (which we shared in our Fall TV preview) schedule The Librarians: The Next Chapter (from Dean Devlin) will now be at home on TNT. Also, according to the publication, TNT is looking to add more scripted content, as they used to, to their 2025 lineup. If this mentality sounds familiar, it’s also one USA Network (former home to shows like White Collar or Burn Notice) is planning to adopt as they bring back scripted content.

I wish My Lady Jane would be back – I wouldn’t mind seeing the other books in the series adapted.
I think, if the series were to return, I’d like a “second” season to be about one of the other books. I didn’t finish My Lady Jane, but from what I understand, it has a happy end, like the book, so it’d be fun to “move on.” :)
