‘MY DREAMS OF YOU’ IS A VERY DREAMY ROMANCE FROM HALLMARK

by

Dreams, as the title tells us, overshadows (almost) everything in Hallmark’s My Dreams of You.

My Dreams of You (2024) Hallmark TV Film Review

Working temp jobs isn’t in the long-term plans for Grace (Skyler Samuels). She really wants to be an author. But rejection is her present so until then…she works where she can. And until then, she also dreams. Primarily about a guy who may end up being someone. All she knows is his name is Michael… if only he were real.

Turns out, Michael (Kapil Talwalkar) is in fact very real. He too struggles with making goals happen. An aspiring songwriter, Michael too hopes to make all of his hopes happen. He’s most confused when Grace finds him in real life and seems to know him. Thing is, he doesn’t know Grace.

Playing more in whimsy and things that aren’t realistic, Hallmark seems to be tapping into some childhood charms with films like My Dreams of You. In the same program block as Junebug (which evokes the same feels), this film has potential, but it doesn’t quite work.

I love the cuteness and the acknowledgement that there’s interest between Grace and Michael. I love their spontaneous date. That said I don’t love the dream “world” element. While the character of Alura is darling, this world kind of overshadows Grace and Michael. Regardless of this there is still plenty to enjoy and appreciate about the film.

There’s whimsy and cuteness and romance. My Dreams of You is certainly something any fan of the network will be able to enjoy, and while it’s probably not one I’ll rank as a favorite, I do admire that it’s sweet unique and of course that we see a swoony little rain scene. That alone makes this one a charmer.

At publication this isn’t readily available to stream. But keep an eye out for re-airs on Hallmark.

Content: this one is the usual TV-G rating. There’s nothing to note outside of the kisses the couple shares.
