‘OUR LITTLE SECRET’ HAS LINDSAY LOHAN IN FESTIVE MOVIE
The third of their big streaming releases during the Christmas season, Our Little Secret is probably the one I was most curious to see. It’s also the better seasonal movie of the two pairing its leading star with Netflix. (Even if only for the lack of the amnesia plot!)
Our Little Secret (2024) Netflix TV Film Review
Holiday festivities can be, well, somewhat busy. Add in spending the holidays with your boyfriend’s parents, and things are, well, stressful. Still, things are manageable, at least this is how Avery (Lindsay Lohan) approaches this. After all, she’s a career woman and professional. What she never (ever) would expect to find is her ex at the home of her current boyfriend’s parents home. It would seem Logan (Ian Harding) is dating the sister of Avery’s Cameron (Jon Rudnitsky).
Needless to say, Avery isn’t sure quite how to handle all of this, but what she does know is her past cannot ruin her present, and her past staring her in the face at the dinner table isn’t exactly helping.
NETFLIX FILM REVIEW | ‘THE MERRY GENTLEMEN’ UNWRAPS A CHEEKY CHRISTMAS LOVE STORY
‘OUR LITTLE SECRET’ HAS LINDSAY LOHAN IN FESTIVE MOVIE. #LindsayLohan stars in #OurLittleSecret, a #Netflix comedy! #ChristmasMovies #Christmas Share on X
Without question, this is the better Lindsay Lohan Christmas flick. Her first was Falling for Christmas and uses the amnesia plot. By and large, that’s something that isn’t well done so seeing Lohan step into this role is one that interested me far more. Our Little Secret has some good sense of comedy and silliness, yes, but just fun. The cast is good and I enjoy the characters, too. It’s great to see Lindsay Lohan in a movie like this which is a great role for her. You’ll also recognize Ian Harding if you enjoy Hallmark (he’s currently in Holidazed). Kristin Chenoweth and Tim Meadows are also part of the cast, and everyone seems to have fun.
Anyone who likes Hot Frosty or The Merry Gentlemen (the other two Netflix originals from 2024), then this should be added to your list of movies to watch. There’s heartwarming scenes and conversations and some really sweet elements that I didn’t expect. The film goes beyond just it’s titular secret and revels lots of silly and serious secrets, too. The end plays into that silly with the everyone-standing-around-secret-reveal, but still, it doesn’t ruin the charm plus the opening credits sequence (which again is a lost art) are so cute.
To end, I just have more of the same to say. The movie is a good deal of fun, and I think Netflix was really smart to cast three popular stars (Lohan, Chad Michael Murray, Lacey Chabert) in their primary three movies. It’s a move sure to bring one generation in, and I’m sure has a wide enough appeal to others as well. All in all, Our Little Secret is lots of fun (plus it eliminates the third act breakup drama which I love).

Content: there is some minor innuendo (an affair is uncovered) and profanity. Nothing that goes beyond the normal TV-14 rating. A character gets (accidentally) high. The content is pretty much on par with Netflix’s other seasonal offerings (Hot Frosty, The Merry Gentlemen).

Haha I agree, I plan to watch them because of the cast, they make me a nostalgic millennial
Right? They’re often silly and not always “right” in terms of how the story is told, but still, I always “have” to watch these. ;)
