‘REACHER’ EPISODE EIGHT RECAP IS THE DIFFICULT BIG BUSINESS OF UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Seven episodes starting in February have led to this climax in the third season of Reacher. Today is the finale episode which inspires me to look at the Reacher finale recap.
Note; read at your own risk! This is a recap, which means, yes, there will be spoilers.
Episode seven saw Reacher in L.A. with Susan Duffy (where they got, well, close) as they set plans to entrap Beck and Quinn. This also reunites Reacher and his bestie (I know, Reacher doesn’t have any) Frances Neagley, who is still awesome. A series of events and “orders” lead to this which involves Jack receiving information from his now “inside man” Beck. The end of episode seven reveals that, while Reacher was pumped to end Quinn for good (based off his want for revenge), the buy that would have brought Quinn into Reacher’s line of sniper sight is actually a trap. Thanks to Neagley, Reacher realizes this, but of course, the scene cuts and we had to wait for this finale to reveal the “end game.”
The episode begins just as seven let off. Neagley is frantically asking Reacher what trap is going down, but in typical fashion, he hangs up and sets about putting the ambush gunman in his sights. Naturally he takes some of the dudes out. Duffy arrives on the scene just in time for big fireworks. Reacher and Beck eventually pair up and make their way towards his mansion where we all know the build up of Paulie vs Reacher has to happen (and it won’t be pretty).
The Paulie showdown is indeed bloody. Reacher gets beats up and Paulie’s stature makes this battle rough. The dude isn’t fazed no matter how hard Reacher punches. Inside the house, Neagley, Duffy and Villanueva have tasks. reacher episode eight finale recap

After fighting a losing (including in the water!) but eventually won battle with Paulie, Reacher makes it to the house looking like he’s had better days. Wielding a gun he shoots anyone in his path.
Meanwhile, Duffy finds a drugged up Tereasa, the source. Neagley and Reacher stay on Quinn’s path while Beck, concerned with the gunfire, sticks his head into the fray wanting to protect Richard. Quinn finds him first and becomes a hostage. This is the demise of Beck who dies in pursuit of saving his son. All that’s left is the Reacher vs Quinn showdown and well, it happens. Naturally the end result is Reacher standing and a trail of bloody bodies behind him.
The next day, Reacher and Richard take leave of each other. Reacher advises Richard to take off with his dad’s money before the feds freeze his accounts. After taking his leave of his season three team, including Susan Duffy, who plans to “move on” from the ATF, Reacher does the same.
The season ends with Neagley and Reacher teasing each other; Richard taking to the open road with a bag of money; Duffy and Villanueva saying goodbye to their lost teammate, Elliot; and Duffy bringing Tereasa home. The final scene though is, of course, Reacher taking to the road where he presumably travels cross country where, somewhere along the line, another new case awaits him.
