40+ OF THE FEEL-GOOD MOVIES ON PRIME VIDEO RIGHT NOW!

We all love a good flick, from many differing genres, every now and then. But here’s the thing, if you are anything at all like me, you’re very into a feel-good kind of movie right now. This inspires lists like this such as the feel-good movies on Prime Video. How many shall we find? Time (and research!) will tell. Let’s dive in.

LIST | SUMMER 2025 TV SHOWS: DISCOVER SOMETHING NEW + RETURNING FAVORITES

SEE A FEW OF THE FEEL-GOOD MOVIES ON PRIME VIDEO RIGHT NOW! #PrimeVideos #GoodMovies #FeelGoodMovies #Comedies Share on X

There are some “classics,” and some that are more underrated, but let’s see what types we find. Full transparency, I haven’t seen many of these, but they are tagged with comedy or the feel-good tag, so I’m relying on that. The titles on this list aren’t all “the best” in an objective sense or that they all boast high ratings, but the purpose of this list is first and foremost just fun, and secondly to offer some titles they will leave us with a smile, even if the movie is a bit shaky in its production. Hopefully, whatever the result of this, under the happier tags these do share, there is some variety of titles.

FEEL-GOOD MOVIES on PRIME VIDEO june 2025

THE ACCIDENTAL HUSBAND

Colin Firth plays in this comedy as a man about to marry a radio host relationship expert, played by Uma Thurman when a snag (aka she’s married!) prevents their wedding from moving forward! This one is, admittedly, cute and is a film I do rewatch now and then. Only, if you like Firth to always win, this may be one to skip.

PG-13 is the rating of this film for innuendo, a sex scene and some profanity.

AFTER the BALL

This one isn’t “perfect” and is a lesser-known kind of “b” budget film that is set in the modern fashion world and retells the Cinderella fable. It’s sweet despite its fumbles.

PG is the rating

AGENT CODY BANKS and AGENT CODY BANKS 2: DESTINATION LONDON

Frankie Muniz features as the titular character in this film pair about a teen recruited by the CIA. The movies are silly and suffer from some so-so stunts and mediocre save-the-world plots, but like I said, they are both way too fun to complain much about and each has something fun about it like the first also has a young Hilary Duff, and the sequel one takes us to London.

PG is the rating for some mild innuendo and some “tense” action / adventure scenes

BABE and BABE: PIG in the CITY

It’s been years since I watched this iconic family flick, but I remember it being a feel-good movie despite the film also having some bittersweet moments. Still, the “well done, pig” line is iconic.

PG is the rating of this title.

BECAUSE I SAID SO

An impressive cast is led by Mandy Moore and Diane Keaton in this complicated comedy about mothers and daughters, and the lengths mom’s go to in pursuit of what they believe will make their kids happy.

PG-13 is the film’s rating.

BETTING on the BRIDE

Favorite TV star Peter Mooney (from Burden of Truth) stars in this title that is a kind of reimagining of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. The plot is about a “womanizer” who makes a bet he can get someone to say yes to his marriage proposal in a mere thirty days. Karissa Lee Staples co-stars.

PG-13 is the rating of this film

BLIND DATING

In a role that was pre-everybody-knows-his-name, Chris Pine features in this as a young man who is blind, and much to his disdain, he attracts every woman in his path from his therapist to his doctor. The film is, largely silly, but again, it’s just fun and as that’s what we’re aiming for, it feels appropriate to put this one on the list.

PG-13 is the rating for suggestive conversations / innuendo, profanity

THE CUTTING EDGE

This one is a kind of cult classic favorite. It’s about a classic figure skater who finds she needs a pro partner in order to compete, and the “rough” hockey player she’s paired with.

PG is the rating for some mild innuendo

FALL GUY

In his first “big” role post Barbie, Ryan Gosling plays a broken stunt man who is lured back to the world under the promise that the ex he fell hard for will be directing the film he’s wanted for. Emily Blunt co-stars in this film that is different, but super fun.

PG-13 is the rating for some adventure “violence” (we see some tense stunts performed), innuendo and some profanity, too.

FINDING LOVE in SAINT LUCIA

According to its Prime Video description, this heartwarming comedy title says it’s about “an Ornithologist and a Journalist partner up to save an endangered bird species in the jungle of Santa Lucia. They immediately fall in love with the nature, and in the process, they’ll also fall in love with each other.”

The Prime Video page gives this one a 7+ rating which I’m assuming is sort of a PG rating

FIRST DAUGHTER

Katie Holmes stars in this adorable PG comedy about a college student struggling to carve out a life of her own during her father’s reelection campaign. Michael Keaton and Holmes share some really sweet scenes together, too! Plus, the dance scenes are off the charts swoony and playful.

PG is the rating for some sensuality and mild profanity

FIVE BLIND DATES

An exclusive to Prime Video when it released (in 2023), this is an underrated gem that’s “silly,” but really quite cute. It’s about a woman who learns she’ll meet her LOML match in one of her next five dates.

PG-13 is the rating for this film, which has some sensuality and mild innuendo (a suggestion asks if a couple slept together, and if bothered, one character is attracted to the same sex); likely some profanity, too.

GUYS and DOLLS

A musical from 1955, this is another I saw years ago, but don’t ask me to remember the details. The Prime Video page describes it as a story about “a gambler bets he can woo a Salvation Army missionary.”

PG is the rating

HAPPY FEET and HAPPY FEET TWO

These family animated films about dancing penguins are all kinds of cute. Plus, who doesn’t love the bright and cheerful colors of an animated film?

PG is the rating of both films

HOT PURSUIT

Reese Witherspoon plays a by-the-book cop trying to impress her bosses with her skills. She then, quite by accident, has to go on the run with the wife of a witness who gets murdered. Sofia Vergara co-stars.

PG-13 is the rating for some suggestive comments / innuendo (if it bothers you, the girls play lesbians as a distraction) and profanity. There is also some violence and gunplay.

HOW to MURDER YOUR WIFE

This title is really silly, but it’s oddly entertaining too. It follows Jack Lemmon’s bachelor who ends up married much to his and his devoted butler’s disappointment.

PG-13 is the rating for innuendo and a couple in bed undressed (they are covered with sheets).

IF the SHOE FITS

A kind of modern Cinderella story, Jennifer Grey stars in this as an assistant who has real talent as a designer and Rob Lowe plays the fashion designer who may help her find a career in high end fashion.

PG is the rating.

IT HAD to be YOU

This is an underrated romantic dramedy that’s quite cute. The trope does annoy some people because it’s about a couple who meet while planning their respective weddings. Naturally, there is a romance and that will bother some. I think how it’s done is actually really nice (and restrained), and the plot also gives time and perspective where we, and the characters, need it.

PG is the rating for this one which has some innuendo

JUST GETTING STARTED

In the witness protection program, an ex-FBI agent and ex lawyer have to work together in order to thwart a mob hit. Tommy Lee Jones, Morgan Freeman and Rene Russo star.

PG-13 is the rating which is likely for profanity.

LEGALLY BLONDE

The classic with Reese Witherspoon is a flick we all love, a lot. Some of us detest the sequel (it’s not as good), but this fist film about a stereotyped “ditzy” blonde who makes waves and impresses at Harvard is a classic all its own. It also has the iconic “What? Like it’s hard” movie quote line which Witherspoon delivers well.

PG-13 is the rating for some sensuality / mild innuendo and some profanity

LETTERS to JULIET

Amanda Seyfried stars in this film about a woman who travels to Italy with her boyfriend only to spend all of her time alone rather than with him because of his work focus. In this time, she discovers the Juliet letters and learns of a long ago romance that missed its chance for happily ever after.

LOVE ACCIDENTALLY

“Alexa and Jason are competing for a position at an advertising firm when their partners break up with them. Alexa mistakenly texts Jason, and they start a phone-only relationship. When they meet and the truth comes out, will true love prevail?” – Prime Video

13+ is the film’s rating

THE LOVE PUNCH

One of those really fun titles, this has Emma Thompson and Pierce Bronson starring as exes who decide to join forces to recover the retirement money that they’ve lost. The film is a kind of fun caper style that made me laugh a lot.

PG-13 is the rating for some sexual innuendo and profanity.

LOVEWRECKED

A silly teen comedy, this is set on an island about a girl (who Amanda Bynes plays) who takes on a summer job at a resort where the pop star she idolizes stays. Though it really falls too much into the goofy, this film is cute if you want something that doesn’t require thought.

PG is the rating.

MADHOUSE

Kirstie Alley stars in this film about a “obnoxious relatives and neighbors wear out their welcome in the new home of a yuppie couple.” – Prime Video

PG-13 is the rating

MCLINTOCK

A ridiculous but also funny western, I’m guessing most modern audiences take issue with this film, but it does inspire laughs. A wealthy rancher who knows everyone, what John Wayne’s titular character doesn’t know how to handle is the return of his ex, the fiery Maureen O’Hara.

13+ is the rating on its Prime Video page.

MOONSTRUCK

Cher and Nicholas Cage team up in this comedy about “a Brooklyn bookkeeper falls for her fiancé’s brother.”

PG is the film

MY SPY and MY SPY 2

These action and adventure flicks are lots of fun. It’s about a smart CIA operative who is stuck on a mission watching and surveilling a woman, the ex of a criminal the agency wants, and her daughter. The film is adorable and even has a fun follow-up sequel with the primary two leading cast returning.

PG-13 is the rating for some action violence and profanity, too.

ONCE I WAS ENGAGED

This one has a woman becoming engaged in Hawaii and then has to deal with the over-the-top plans her mother has for her wedding, which is perhaps to turn her daughter’s happy ending into a bit of a planning disaster.

The film is a G / PG rating

ONE SMALL HITCH

Childhood friends meet again on a flight home and agree to play pretend (with an engagement!) in order to make his family happy. I watched part of this film a long time ago and if I remember right, it does turn unexpectedly bittersweet because of the illness of a family member, but the film remains upbeat and silly and overall, funny.

PG-13 is the rating of this one

THE OTHER ZOEY

This one uses the amnesia trope to tell its rom-com story and is about a guy who, after a minor accident, comes to believe that the girl he sees when he wakes up is his girlfriend. Josephine Langford stars in this 2023 film.

PG-13 is the rating for this film which says this rating is, in part, for “suggestive references” and some language.

OVERBOARD, 1987 and 2018

This one is fun! More so than I remembered. I saw it years ago and rewatched it recently-ish. It has real-life couple Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. The plot is about Hawn’s wealthy and sometimes entitled woman who ends up losing her memory and after being ill-treated by her during a job on her yacht, Russell’s blue collar single dad convinces her she’s a working mum of his sons. In 2018, the film also got remade with Anna Faris and a gender reversal of the characters.

PG-13 is the rating for sexual innuendo.

THE PAJAMA GAME

Doris Day stars in this film that is tagged as a comedy. The plot follows the head of a pajama company’s “grievance committee” who fall for an exec. The film is from 1957 and according to its Prime Video page, it says it’s one of the “finest film adaptation of a hit Broadway musical.”

13+ is its page rating, but I think it’s more of a PG rating.

PERFECT ROMANCE

A film that, I think, made its debut on TV, this 2004 romance is a story about a woman who matchmakes for her daughter only to find a possible match of her own. Henry Ian Cusick and Michael Trucco star.

PG-13 is this film’s rating

PERSONALLLY YOURS

A divorced couple, sharing three children, start to move on, and then their kids try to find a new mate for their dad only to learn that the match he once had is actually his perfect one. Valerie Bertinelli, Jeffrey Nordling and a young Emily Tennant (known to Hallmark fans) star.

PG-13 is the rating, and if I’m remembering right (it’s been years since I saw this), there is a sex scene (relatively non-graphic)

PICTURE THIS, 2025

If, while browsing Prime Video, you think this one sounds familiar, well, that is fair. This film has an impressive cast (Simone Ashley and Hero Fiennes Tiffin) but is nearly a “copy and paste” version of Five Blind Dates. It’s about a woman learning she’ll meet the man meant for her in one of her next dates. It’s still cute despite the repeat story.

‘PICTURE THIS’ PRIME VIDEO REVIEW: SNAPSHOT OF REUNION LOVE STORY. Simone Ashley stars in the new Prime Video rom-com. Hero Fiennes Tiffin co-stars.
Amazon MGM Studios / Capital Pictures / Alamy

R is the rating for this. It has some profanity including the F-word and some innuendo (including jokes about threesomes or other types of sex; one character is attracted to the same sex if this bothers you).

THE SIX WIVES of HENRY LEFAY

This title is silly and quite ridiculous in many ways. It has Tim Allen playing a man who has been married many times. It follows his daughter who learns her father, who she is estranged from, has died. In case you think I’m adding this title in error, I am not. Trust me, this one is a funny and “feel-good” movie.

PG-13 is the rating for sexual references / sexual acts and content.

SOMETHING FROM TIFFANY’S

Zoey Deutch stars in this film about a woman who has her life changed by “an engagement ring” that is meant for someone else. I never did watch this film that is described as a seasonal romance (and it is tagged as a comedy, but is is also bittersweet?), but having loved Zoey in Set It Up, I’m excited about this one.

The film is PG

SPACE CADET

Emma Roberts stars in this silly flick about a young woman who dreams of going to space. The movie isn’t a favorite, but I did think it was fun for a kind of “mindless” bit of entertainment. Plus, it has a little bit of everything for those of us who enjoy multiple genres.

PG-13 is the rating for this which is for some innuendo and profanity.

STARS FELL on ALABAMA

Set in a small town, Stars Fell on Alabama follows an actress who pretends to be the girlfriend of an agent who is back home for a reunion.

PG-13 is this film’s rating.

STARSKY and HUTCH

This is definitely one that is a silly title yet is still fun. It’s a 2004 film that remakes the 70s show (of the same name). In this feature, Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller star as the titular detectives who are paired up for an undercover job that doesn’t go smoothly.

The film is PG-13 and does contain some violence and suggestive / crude humor.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie

I started to watch this but am not sure I finished it. Either way, it’s a colorful and fun kind of adventure flick thanks to its animation. Plus it has some solid talent voicing these characters including Chris Pratt, Seth Rogan and Anna Taylor-Joy.

The film is PG.

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHERIFF!

This is an oldie, but it’s always fun and weirdly charming. James Garner stars as the titular sheriff and is excessively laid back and fun.

The film is PG

THIS LITTLE LOVE OF MINE

This film is all about a woman who, now working as a lawyer, returns to the island where she grew up in order to convince a friend that he should accept an inheritance and take over the family business. This one is a cute little film that has a nice tropical setting which makes it an ideal little summer setting.

The film is TV-G and really doesn’t have anything worth mentioning.

YOU’RE CORDIALLY INVITED

Another Reese Witherspoon led comedy, this one has her as a “type a” perfectionist who takes on planning her sister’s wedding. Will Ferrell plays the father of a bride whose wedding is double booked on the same day as the sister of Witherspoon’s character.

– Credit: Amazon Studios | Alamy –

The film has an R-rating for some crude innuendo and several uses of the F-word.

YOURS, MINE and OURS, 1968

From the 1960s, this comedy has Lucille Ball playing a woman who meets a man and after a whirlwind romance they marry and work to comingle their families. Henry Fonda co-stars.

PG-13 is the film’s rating.

YOU’VE GOT MAIL

Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks co-star (in a reunion pair up) in this beloved romantic comedy film about two people who end up writing to each other and fall in love through those letters only to unknowingly loathe each other in real life.

The film has a PG rating for some minor crude humor or innuendo.
