THE NEXT ERA IS LOADING: TAYLOR SWIFT ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM

Monday began with an obsessive fandom reposting and sharing TikToks about the rumors that Taylor Swift would be announcing her next era aka a new album. This was after two social media posts which sent the (over-the-top) fan base into full sleuth mode. From various social media comments and fans posting theories, there has been lots of chatter. So, let’s recap (and yes share Swifts official announcement) what all of the fuss starting the week is about.

THE NEXT ERA IS LOADING: TAYLOR SWIFT ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM ❤️‍🔥 Sharing “what we know” about the upcoming album from #TaylorSwift! #TheLifeofaShowgirl Share on X

Not on my Monday bingo card was obsessive news that Taylor Swift would be announcing a new album. Yet here we are, it’s here. This comes nine or so weeks after her May 30th Instagram post and website letter sharing she finally owns all of her masters, and at present has no plans to rerelease her final two albums left out of the Taylor’s Version line. The albums that won’t get this treatment is Reputation and her self-titled debut. Today’s excitement stirred and circulates because of two posts. One from the official Taylor Nation Instagram page which shows a series of photos of Swift from her Eras Tour and the caption read “Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era…’❤️‍🔥” and the second appeared on the New Heights podcast page which is co-hosted by Swift’s boyfriend and NFL star Travis Kelce.

The post teases Wednesday’s episode with the Kelce brothers on either side of a silhouette that eagle fans claim is Swift. Later on, the podcast page put up a brief clip of Swift telling Kelce he looks good in the blue-ish color of his sweatshirt, and dropping an F-bomb. (This is all also the most recent in a string of signs pointing to a new album including a report that Swift had been filming a super secret music video.) Then, at some point (don’t ask me the specific when because I’m not that kind of fan), the TaylorSwift.com website was given a sparkling orange glitter background and featured a prominent countdown clock for August 12 at 12:12 AM. All signs, for any Swift fan, pointing to the reality of a new album loading and that its theme and coloring would be shades of orange.

(As an aside, Swift appearing on the podcast also breaks free from the usual pattern of adult Taylor Swift habits since the girl needs only to share an Instagram post with no other press, and her album sales still break records.)

Of course, everyone is right as the hour has come and on her official Instagram page and website, Swift did reveal a new album set to drop later this year. Here’s the brief rundown of what we know, the list of which is sure to grow after Wednesdays very likely record breaking New Heights podcast.

WHAT we KNOW: TAYLOR SWIFT’S NEW ALBUM

The album title is The Life of a Showgirl. Below is a teaser Reel, direct from the Instagram page of Taylor Swift. (Who thinks shades of orange are about to be unusually popular?)

The release date is yet to be shared, but the product page on TaylorSwift.com says it will ship before 10/13/2025. The editions, at present, include Cassette, CD and Vinyl.

The only preorder option is on TaylorSwift.com. The album is likely to also show up on retailers like Target, which usually has some type of exclusive version.

This post will update as we learn more things, primarily from Taylor Swift. More details will come, likely, after the Wednesday podcast.

Ok, it’s now your turn! What do you think? Do you love the title? What do you think the sound of this album will be? Do you like the color scheme? How do you feel about this new Taylor Swift album? Will Swift tour this album? Comment all of your thoughts below!
