TEN INTERESTING OCCUPATION TITLE NOVELS FROM MY SHELF
Book that have great titles are often underrated. Anytime I get to feature books for their titles is fun. This week the specific subject is book titles with an occupation! Not sure I’ll find any from my bookshelf that fit this. This said, I’m up for the challenge so it’s time to search the actual shelves.

TEN INTERESTING OCCUPATION TITLE NOVELS FROM MY SHELF. A #TopTen book list collection. #TopTenList #TopTenTuesday #TTT #BookList Share on XHere we go! Let’s see what we discover.
BOOK TITLES with an OCCUPATION
THE BRITISH BOOKSELLERS, KRISTY CAMBRON
A bookseller counts as an occupation, right? I’m not sure if this title is about a literal bookseller, however I’m going to call adding this title a win. Also, can we talk about this book cover! It’s a stunner. And Cambron is a well loved novelist. Goodreads
THE BODYGUARD, KATHERINE CENTER
The number of times I say books by Center look fun, well, it’s I am sure way too many. Regardless, I’m putting it on the list because it does fit the topic. The story is a celebrity needing protection. Goodreads
MAID to MATCH, DEANNE GIST
This is a historical book that has a maid as a central character, plus that cover looks stunning. Goodreads
THE CODEBREAKER’S DAUGHTER, AMY LYNN GREEN
This author is well loved and one I’m embarrassed to say I haven’t read. Her books have all been historical, and primarily all set around the second World War. Goodreads book titles with an occupation
THE NEGOTIATOR, DEE HENDERSON
Read this book and the entire O’Malley series years ago and loved it. The Negotiator is about a heroine who is, well, what the title reveals. The rest of the books follow her siblings, all of whom are in some type of first responder or forensic career. Goodreads

THE APOTHECAREY’S DAUGHTER and THE DANCING MASTER, JULIE KLASSEN
These are both historical novels and the latter has a lead character that is, yes, a dancing master. The romance blooms between him and the daughter of the woman who has banned dancing in the new place he moves to. ‘Apothecary’ on Goodreads | ‘Dancing’ on Goodreads
THE CAROUSEL PAINTER, JUDITH MCCOY MILLER
Another older title I once owned that fits in the historical fiction category. Goodreads
THE MAID, NITA PROSE
This is a cozy mystery novel that made many readers quite happy. It also has two sequels and a shorter (in length) Christmas story. Goodreads
STEALING the PREACHER, KAREN WITEMEYER
Another of my long ago reads! I think I read this book about a preacher who, on his way to interview for a new church, is instead “presented” to the daughter of an outlaw! Sounds a little different but I think it was a cute story. Goodreads

Linking Up with That Artsy Reader Girl September 2: Books With Occupations in the Title (Submitted by Hopewell’s Public Library of Life)

Good ones. I apparently don’t read many books with occupations in the title. I think my twist stayed with the theme but in a unique way.
Sometimes going the unique way is super fun. :)
A grand list and a bookseller is definitely an occupation in my eyes!

A great collection of job titles! I forgot about The Bodyguard when I was putting my list together this week.

The Bodyguard is a great fit! :)
i love so many of these books!! great list :)
There are some great ones indeed! :)
Great list! How could I miss The Bodyguard?! That’s a great one :) I had the “maid” occupation on my list today as well but a different title for it.
There are more “maid” titles that I thought! But it along with Katherine’s are great fits. :)
Oh, I didn’t think about them, but The Bodyguard and The Maid are great picks!
They do fit nicely! :)
I went to my physical shelves as well, otherwise I would have had a hard time narrowing it down. I enjoyed stealing the preacher as well :) Great list!
I feel like I would have had more. I probably kind of “gave” up when I thought I had enough but I should have kept looking because I keep repeating titles. ;)
I don’t think so. I think there are several on here that you haven’t mentioned, or not in a long while!
That’s nice to know! :)
Nice list! I agree. The cover for The British Booksellers is great! Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
It sure is! A standout stunner. :)
One of these days I’m going to have to read The Maid. :)
And then let me know what you think if you do. ;)
Some great titles. I have read the Bodyguard by Katherine Center.
Yay for seeing a title you read. :)
I love the Maid series. It’s lots of fun! I put the third installment on my list today. My book club is reading it in October, so I’m going to wait until then to read it.
Happy TTT!

I could have used the newest ‘Maid’ novel too! I’m sure I bought a copy. :) Hope you enjoy reading it with your book club!
Seeing a lot of contemporary and romance on these lists this week.
I’m surprised I didn’t spot more historical (especially titles using “doctor”) but maybe I just missed them on my shelf. ;)
The Bodyguard was definitely a fun read! I enjoyed it so much, and I agree, I’ve read some of Katherine Center’s other books and they are fun too!
I’m looking forward to reading more by Katherine. They’ve been fun so far. :)
I have seen The British Bookkeepers on a couple lists, must mean it is a good one. Great list.
I’m certainly hoping so! I haven’t read it yet. :)
You did such a great job of finding books with realistic occupations in them! I’ve noticed that a lot of romance and historical fiction have professions in the title.
Very true! I’m surprised I didn’t find more historical that had “doctor” in the title. But then maybe I missed those. :)
The Maid sounds really good.
I had a family emergency last week and so am just catching up on stuff now.
I’m SO sorry, Lydia. I hope the emergency is better now and things are calmer.
