THE BEST ON HALLMARK+ RIGHT NOW: WHAT YOU CAN STREAM IN THE LIBRARY

When it comes to the Hallmark channel, there is no denying that the cable network does have an avid following. The makeup of which I’m not sure about since I don’t read about specific rating breakdowns, but while cable TV doesn’t pull the ratings they did, Hallmark continues to put out their cute rom-coms and is working towards plans to adapt in this changing market. One such way they are doing this is to have their own streaming platform where they heavily promote a “next day” streaming window for their network Saturday night premieres as well as their original shows. So, this brings us to the task today which is to discover the best on Hallmark+ platform right now (I’ve done the browsing for you!).

LIST | 25 CHRISTMAS FICTION THAT WILL SHINE BRIGHT IN 2025

THE BEST ON HALLMARK+ RIGHT NOW: WHAT YOU CAN STREAM IN THE LIBRARY. Spotlighting some of the *higher* user rating titles now on #Hallmark+ as well as a few favorites. #HallmarkPlus #Hallmark Share on X

The Hallmark+ streamer is the primary home for nearly all of the Hallmark originals. They will also be home to the latest seasons of their popular original dramas which includes The Way Home and When Calls the Heart, it will be the next-day streaming home to their respective fourth and thirteenth seasons. The platform is home hundreds of their own titles, has a few titles they’ve licensed and will be the heavily promoted home to their 2025 Countdown to Christmas titles. Plus, if you are a Christmas movie addict (so much so, you know when their favorites air), the platform has a handy feature where you can search the Countdown to Christmas movies by year.

If you’re an avid fan of Hallmark movies, it’s really the streamer to have with an impressive (and pretty extensive) collection of new and library titles. Excluding (with exception to one or two memorable ones) Christmas movies, I thought we’d take a closer look at what is the best on Hallmark+ just now. Of course, I will selfishly share some I think are really good (but may not have high ratings), but did take user ratings (aka popular titles that boast a 7+/10 average) to form this list (and yes I have seen all but one of these). Let’s have some fun!

THE BEST on HALLMARK+ right now

3 BED, 2 BATH, 1 GHOST, 2023

I consider this a title I’m adding because of bias (aka I’m fond of it), but it does have a 7+ user rating! It also has Julie Gonzalo co-starring with When Calls the Heart’s Chris McNally. The plot is cute and features a ghost haunting a home that a real estate agent is trying to sell.

This is a personal pick

Synopsis: A 1920’s ghost refuses to leave estate agent Anna’s newly listed home. Worse, the spirit is convinced she cannot “pass over” until she gets Anna back together with her ex. Stars Julie Gonzalo, Chris McNally, Madeleine Arthur. – Hallmark+

ALL for LOVE, 2016

This is an oldie title but it’s one I’ve actually re-watched many times (normally I’m a “one time” TV romance watcher). The banter is quite funny and I love that we see new (compared to most actors we see in these roles) faces taking on the roles. Sara Rue’s romance author is sassy and fun and Steve Bacic’s former military hero is a nice counter to her more upbeat approach, and yet each has a positive (like usual) impact on the other.

AN UNEXPECTED VALENTINE, 2025

Network favorite Lacey Chabert features in this about a woman who, with the reluctant help of her rideshare driver, tries to find the owner of an engagement ring discovered in the car.

Synopsis: A chance encounter on Valentine’s Day brings Hannah and Finn together as they race through New York City to return a lost engagement ring and save one couple’s special day. Stars Lacey Chabert, Robert Buckley. – Hallmark+

AS LUCK WOULD HAVE IT, 2021

This isn’t a new plot (follows the MC, Lindsey as she travels to Ireland where love awaits) but I think the cast is good which says a lot about the production and the Irish setting is very attractive too. That cast consists of JoAnna Garcia Swisher (known now for Sweet Magnolias) and Allen Leech (from Downton Abbey).

Synopsis: Lindsey travels to Ireland to acquire land that is perfect for a resort. She decides to enter the town’s matchmaking festival to prove her investment and win over a handsome local. Starring JoAnna Garcia Swisher and Allen Leech. – Hallmark+

BETTY’S BAD LUCK in LOVE, 2024

The promotional art for this one (even the title) was so cute and as one of the first in 2024 to debut, it remained one of the standout favorites. Such a cute premise, and it quite possibly is one of the best on Hallmark+ right now no matter the rating system.

on Youtube

Synopsis: Cursed from childhood to fail at romance, Betty’s relationships have always ended in disaster. But when she meets Alex, she’s tempted to try once more. Can true love prevail over a curse? Stars Laci J. Mailey, Marco Grazzini. – Hallmark+

BOTTLED with LOVE, 2019

Andrew Walker (who any avid fan knows is a mainstay) features in this in a story about a woman (played by Bethany Joy Lenz) who sends a letter in a bottle which is discovered (of course) and eventually leads to a love story.

on Youtube

Synopsis: After being stood up, Abbey gets inspired to open her heart in a letter, put it in a bottle and toss it out to sea. Months later, a man fishing discovers it and opts to reach out. Stars Bethany Joy Lenz, Andrew Walker. – Hallmark+

BRANCHING OUT, 2024

The cast of this one didn’t really pull me in (or rather one of them doesn’t) so I didn’t watch this title, but I know many were impressed and liked it because the story is different than the norm. Mistletoe Murders star Sarah Drew leads this one in which she plays a woman raising a daughter on her own.

Synopsis: To help build a family tree, single mom Amelia tracks down her daughter’s biological father. It becomes a journey of trust, love, and discovering the meaning of family. Stars Sarah Drew, Juan Pablo Di Pace. – Hallmark+

THE COLOR of RAIN, 2014

Synopsis: When Gina loses her husband on Christmas Day, she soon finds a kindred spirit in another parent at her kids’ school, Michael, who loses his wife at the same time. Stars Lacey Chabert and Warren Christie. – Hallmark+

COME FLY with ME

This one is all kinds of sweet and charming! It’s also a title I plan to enjoy again and made its debut on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries (as was then). Niall Matter stars alongside Heather Hemmens in a story about falling in love and daring feats (but in a fun way)!

HAUNTED WEDDING, 2024

This one was SO much fun. Very different from most Hallmark titles since it’s more All Hallow’s Eve coded than anything, but still cute. I think the whole ghost marriage subplot got a little wearying but overall, I did enjoy this one.

Synopsis: Jana and Brian’s plan to wed is in jeopardy when Angelique, a ghost in an 18th century wedding dress, vows to stop it. The couple must work together to save their wedding from disaster. Stars Janel Parrish, Dominic Sherwood. – Hallmark+

THE IRRESISTABLE BLUEBERRY FARM, 2016

Synopsis: Ellen Branford, a high-powered attorney, finds love, purpose, and the promise of a simpler life when she sets off on a journey to fulfill her grandmother’s dying wish, to find the boy she once loved and give him her last letter. – Hallmark+

IT WAS ALWAYS YOU, 2021

I remember that this title was really hyped and everyone was excited. Sadly, it didn’t charm me in the way it seems to everyone else. Discounting Christmas titles from its premiere year, the film also drew some of the network’s best ratings. Erin Krakow and Tyler Hynes pair up (a team that will repeat this 2025 Christmas season) as a would-be couple that is complicated by the fact that Krakow’s character is about to marry the brother of Hynes’ character.

Synopsis: Ally Craig has been fostering retired military dog, Sunshine, as she recovers from a broken engagement. But sparks fly again when Sunshine’s military partner, Jake Terry, returns to claim the dog. Danica McKellar, Mark Deklin. – Hallmark+

LOVE at FIRST DANCE, 2018

Remembering all of the details of this, I cannot recall, but I do know that it was sweet and entertaining. It also has a dance plot so that made it something that seemed a bit different. Becca Tobin and Niall Matter also play likable characters so that was a pro too.

This is a personal pick

on Youtube

Synopsis: Hope is tasked with teaching Manhattan’s former “Most Eligible Bachelor” how to dance for his extravagant, society wedding. But as the dance lessons progress, complications ensue when feelings begin to develop between them. – Hallmark+

LOVE’S PORTRAIT, 2022

Synopsis: Museum curator, Lily, finds a painting that’s identical to her and searches for the artist in Ireland. There, William, a charming man joins her on her quest and helps her rediscover love. Stars Aubrey Reynolds, Richard McWilliams. – Hallmark+

LOVE on the SIDELINES, 2015

A title that is ten years old now, at the time, this one stood out to me and is one I’ve rewatched more than once, too. It’s entertaining and features a funny back-and-forth banter between the leads who, at the time, I’d seen in very little. I also liked that the plot partially revolved around the game of football since that’s a story I didn’t see Hallmark do much.

This is a personal pick

on Youtube

Synopsis: A down-on-her-luck young woman falls into a job as a personal assistant to a star quarterback. He’s never had a female assistant before, and she knows nothing about football. Stars Emily Kinney, John Reardon, and Joe Theismann. – Hallmark+

LOVE to the RESCUE, 2019

on Youtube

Synopsis: Two single parents come head to head when their kids want to adopt the same dog. Agreeing to co-foster, free-spirited Kate and type-A Eric must work together to find the dog’s forever home. Starring Nikki DeLoach and Michael Rady. – Hallmark+

on Youtube

Synopsis: The McBride sisters reunite in Alaska for a memorable birthday celebration connecting their past to the present. Starring Lyndsy Fonseca, Kimberley Sustad, Erica Durance and Barbara Niven. – Hallmark+

ONE SUMMER, 2021

Sam Page stars in this, an emotional drama about a man who loses his wife and still holds on. He moves his family to her beachside hometown where he wants them to share a bond, only for someone new walk into his life. This title may have fallen under the (as it was then called) Hallmark Movies and Mysteries banner which did often tend to be a little more dramatic.

Synopsis: Jack takes his son and daughter to his late wife’s beachside hometown hoping to heal and become closer. The summer brings visions of the past that could forge a new path forward. Stars Sam Page, Sarah Drew and Amanda Schull. – Hallmark+

A PINCH of PORTUGAL, 2023

I thought this film was delightful despite its lesser 6.1 average rating. It’s about a chef who, used to being in the background, must suddenly take over a celebrity chef’s show. Hether Hemmens, who has less Hallmark credits to her name than some, leads the cast and she’s quickly becoming a favorite.

THE PRESENCE of LOVE, 2022

Synopsis: Adjunct professor Joss travels to England to visit the farm where her late mother grew up and bonds with single-father, Daniel, whose family now runs it. Stars Eloise Mumford, Julian Morris. – Hallmark+

THE REAL WEST, 2024

This film, about a mother vacationing with her kids who finds romance with a local, leans a bit more into adult territory. Even at that, it’s still a very PG kind of “adult,” but the dreams of a shirtless cowboy, well, they are slightly out of norm for Hallmark. The film is actually pretty cute and is helmed by a longtime Hallmark director, Terry Ingram.

Synopsis: A family vacation to a working Ranch introduces Professor Rebecca to Jake West. Rebecca is a widow chasing tenure and Jake is a handsome cowboy who never settled down. Stars Kimberley Sustad, Lucas Bryant and James Denton. – Hallmark+

THE RELUCTANT ROYAL, 2025

Part of a trio of “royal rom-coms” That Hallmark put out earlier this year, this was the highest rated (it also pulls the highest live ratings) of them and with Andrew Walker playing a rough-around-the-edges noble man (in the contemporary age), well, it’s easy to understand why.

Synopsis: Philly mechanic Johnny is surprised to learn that his long-lost father is a duke. But the duke isn’t quite what he expected, nor are his growing feelings for the duke’s advisor Prudence. Stars Andrew Walker, Emilie de Ravin. – Hallmark+

SAVORING PARIS, 2024

This film was so sweet (and in some ways inspiring) though I don’t think I saw a lot of social media positivity for it. I think it has merit and serves as a gentle reminder that we can make life “romantic” (by this I mean, how we experience life not that it’s perfect or that we have to be in a relationship) through choices we make. I also liked how leading lady Bethany Joy Lenz plays Ella, and how we get to kind of “see” Paris through her gentle discovery of this place.

Synopsis: Disillusioned with her life, Ella embarks on a soul-searching journey to Paris where she navigates love, self-discovery and cheese amidst the enchanting backdrop of The City of Love. Stars Bethany Joy Lenz and Stanley Weber. – Hallmark+

TAKING a SHOT at LOVE, 2021

Child star Alexa PenaVega stars in this winter romance about a dancer who helps a struggling hockey player with his game. I was also thinking this was one of those where she rents out a place to him, but cannot find information to this effect, so don’t quote me there!

on Youtube

Synopsis: Jenna, a former professional dancer, uses ballet to help a hockey player get back on the ice. Stars Alexa PenaVega and Luke Macfarlane. – Hallmark+

VILLA AMORE, 2025

Technically I could add this one without it being a favorite (it has a 7+ user rating), but I’m putting it under the ‘personal pick’ because it is. This film surpassed my expectations and while yes it is the “typical” rom-com, it’s one that also looks outside the box of norm and challenges that normal. It has a heroine who let’s her emotions cause a little breakdown (relate, amiright?) and a hero who is likable and definitely someone we find a good guy. It also has a charming romantic (albeit not swoony) moment as reaction to the aforementioned breakdown.

This is a personal pick and recent favorite

Synopsis: Liara goes to Italy and impulsively buys the villa where her parents met. She soon learns she is in way over her head and must ask a lawyer-turned-handyman to help her renovate. Stars Eloise Mumford, Kevin McGarry. – Hallmark+

THE WEDDING COTTAGE, 2023

This teams Erin Krakow from When Calls the Heart and Brendan Penny from the now cancelled Chesapeake Shores in a romance about opposites. At the center of their bickering is the titular cottage in need of some TLC.

on Youtube

Synopsis: A wedding guide creator must convince an uninspired artist and owner of a special wedding cottage to renovate the run down cottage to host a contest winning couple for their dream wedding. Starring Erin Krakow and Brendan Penny. – Hallmark+

THE WEDDING VEIL, 2022

With exception to one title in the “sequel” trio, five of the movies in The Wedding Veil stories have a 7+ user rating. This is the first of the six films that is broken into two sets of three. They are connective stories that center on three best friends played by favorites Lacey Chabert, Autumn Reeser and Alison Sweeney. What ties them together is a veil they find that seems to bring them all true love.

Synopsis: After discovering a long-lost painting, museum curator Avery and new board member Peter investigate the artwork’s origins as they plan a gala to unveil it. Stars Lacey Chabert, Kevin McGarry, Autumn Reeser, Alison Sweeney. – Hallmark+

WINTER LOVE STORY, 2019

One I would have only seen (as I said about another title) once, so memory is fuzzy on details. However, it has Jen Lilley, so I’m sure it was a movie that, as its title would suggest, is cozy and sweet, too.

on Youtube

Synopsis: When author Cassie’s first novel isn’t selling, she is paired on a book tour with author Elliot to boost Cassie’s sales – but along the way a romance starts to blossom. Stars Jen Lilley, Kevin McGarry, and Mary-Margaret Humes. – Hallmark+

BONUS! TWO of the BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES

there are countless Christmas movies on the Hallmark+ platform, some of which would fall in our rules forming this best on Hallmark+ right now list. This said, because there are simply too many, Im opting instead to just feature two that aren’t user (7 or higher) favorites, but I think are quite memorable.

HOLIDAY CRASHERS, 2024

This was probably the one standout for me in the Countdown to Christmas of 2025. Again, it’s also one that I saw more than once. I loved the concept (besties crash the holiday parties they learn the address for while working at an invitation printing shop) and Lyndsy Fonseca has easily become one of my favorite newbies on the network.

NEVER BEEN CHRIS’D, 2023

This one has it rough from viewers. Very few people like it (it has a painful 5.5 rating) and I’m the one over here, being its champion. If I had to guess, I’d assume viewers think the hero is a “Casanova” type character, but the script actually does a really good job of showing which woman the hero is actually romantically interested in. It does this subtlety but is still the ideal “lovely” touches we need to confirm that Tyler Hynes’ hero has a particular interest in one of the besties who return home for their shared class reunion. I actually love when a movie, like this, can still be nostalgic for all of those who obsess over Christmas but break free of the constraints the box sometimes puts this genre in. This one does this beautifully.
