FABULOUS FIFTEEN: DISNEY’S COLORFUL ‘TANGLED’ HITS A MILESTONE
Today marks another movie milestone. This time, we will be spotlighting a Disney movie that retells the Rapunzel fable. That’s right, on this day 15 years later, the fan favorite film Tangled sang its way onto our screens. Funnily enough we did celebrate this one five years ago on its tenth birthday which I forgot when planning for this anniversary. As a result, yes, we’ll remember (again!) what we love about this animated film, but also will add a silly quiz, too. Let’s take a walk down memory lane.

The film earned audience love through its comedy and fun adventure along with its stunning musical numbers that both of its leads lend their talents to. The story is the typical one about an unkind stepmum and a heroine looking to break free. Here are some of the reasons this anniversary needs to be remembered.

THE FRYING PAN
Rapunzel’s frying pan is a character all its own and how can we not remember this instrument she wields so very well?
A MEET-CUTE
When you think about it, not all (or is it many?) animated films have meet-cutes. This is something that really is a good thing since these are produced for kids and so they don’t need romance, no matter how cute. That said, Tangled does boast a meet cute and it’s adorable with its sass and yes, that infamous frying pan.
RAPUNZEL the heroine
I really like Rapunzel as a Disney heroine. She’s quite sassy and the whole sequence of her touching grass (can we also talk about how culturally fitting this moments is now in 2025?) is hilarious! It’s oddly relatable too as we watch her go through a myriad of emotions experiencing something new and stepping into the unknown.
THE SMOLDER
Flynn Ryder may be a little more confident about his charm than he should be, but we still love him and how can we forget his iconic smolder?
