WHAT WE KNOW about RANSOM CANYON season two
WHAT is this TV SHOW ABOUT?
The main thing we know about this show is that its return is coming sooner than fans thought. Initially, rumor was it wouldn’t be back until 2027 and yet, here it is, summer of 2026 and we’re heading back to Texas and catching up with these these Texans. The show has a bit of a time jump as the second year starts and reportedly will start six months after season one. The show will show us leading man Staten Kirkland trying to keep his family legacy alive even as he is dealt a blow on the business front.
Quinn also has a difficult choice ahead as she must choose between the life she is living in New York or the place she returns to.
The synopsis for the second season of this show reads as follows:
“A heartfelt drama set against the sweeping vistas of Texas Hill Country, Ransom Canyon follows the intersecting lives of deep-rooted families in a town where your neighbors know everyone’s business. Season 2 picks up six months after the events of the first season, with rancher Staten Kirkland (Josh Duhamel) fighting to reclaim his legacy after being unseated as trustee of his family’s Double K Ranch, while musician Quinn O’Grady (Minka Kelly) must decide if her heart truly belongs in the small town she once tried to outrun or in the fast-paced world of New York City. Are they star-crossed lovers, or fated to be together? In Ransom Canyon, true love stories are messy, complicated, and always worth the wait.” – via Netflix
Reporting has this season unfolding over the course of eight episodes.

IS THERE a TRAILER?
No. Not even a teaser. However, now on June 25, slightly less than a month until season two drops, a full trailer is now here. But do make sure to bookmark this page, the release of a trailer or teaser will appear here.
WILL THERE be a SEASON THREE?
There has been no word yet on a possible third season. If news breaks soon after this season two drop (or even before), I’ll update it here.
THOUGHTS
I’m about to finish season one (I saw just a few of the season one episodes in order to review the show with a “first impression” writeup), so I cannot say how I’ll feel about this upcoming season since I have to see how its freshman year goes out. However, I have a feeling I’ll tire of the drama which is something shows seem to love. This said, I am still curious to see what season two does for these characters and if the show can write a happy end where the drama comes from other sources rather than the romance. More shows need strong relationships, despite the belief that they ruin shows.
WHEN and WHERE?
Stream, at publication, Ransom Canyon season one exclusively with Netflix; watch for season two to drop on July 23.
