10 OF THE IMMEDIATE BUY BOOKS I STILL HAVEN’T READ
When it comes to hype or the sway of social media hype that leaves readers with FOMO, we have probably all been under the spell of those immediate buys that we had to have, but then never read. I know I have. So, it’s time to dust off those titles and give the immediate buy books a chance to shine.
LIST | THINGS TO WATCH IF YOU LIKE ‘THE FIVE STAR WEEKEND’
10 OF THE IMMEDIATE BUY BOOKS I STILL HAVEN’T READ. A list of books I REALLY *had* to have but never read. Have you? Share on XPutting this list together is also going to make me wonder, do I really still want to read these? Some have been on my shelf for an embarrassingly long time and since it is high time (past actually) I do another shelf clean out, some of these may not survive the next cut. From contemporary to maybe a fantasy or two, here are some of the books that were books I immediately bought and as of today, have still never read.
BOOKS I IMMEDIATELY BOUGHT BUT NEVER READ
- RED QUEEN, VICTORIA AVEYARD Goodreads
- SIX of CROWS, LEIGH BARDUGO Goodreads
- THE BLONDE IDENTITY, ALLY CARTER Goodreads
- A THOUSAND HEARTBEATS, KIERA CASS Goodreads
- WITTY in PINK, ERICA GEORGE Goodreads

- THINGS WE DIDN’T SAY, AMY LYNN GREEN Goodreads
- OF CURSES and KISSES*, SANDHYA MENON Goodreads
- A DAUGHTER’S INHERITANCE, TRACIE PETERSON and JUDITH MILLER Goodreads
- JEOPARDY FALLS series, DANI PETTREY Goodreads
- TURN to ME, BECKY WADE Goodreads
*Update: this is awkward… but after publishing this list, and while responding to comments, I remembered… I have read Of Curses and Kisses! And to make this admission even worse, I did rate it a 4.5 so clearly I did like it at the time of reading the book!
How many of these did you or would you immediately want to add to your shelf? How many hyped books have you added but let gather dust (*raises hand*)? Comment all of your immediate buys below! Let’s talk.
Thank you for visiting; please do return again soon.

Right? Social media keeps on tempting us. ;)
It does! I see adverts on Facebook now too 😂 books are everywhere. Which to be honest is better than some of the stuff that you get online 🤣
True! Even with the I-have-to-buy-a-copy dilemma, books are WAY better than most of what we see online. All the reader temptation of course.
Much less depressing. I have had to have a new set of shelves put up and I still need to find more space for all my books 🤣
I got new shelves several years back but I try to keep my collection limited to the shelves I replaced them with. I think MOSTLY I win at this but I also keep buying books, so…! Who knows. ;)
I do try to limit book buying and have got a fairly new Kindle so that I can read electronically more.
The Kindle I had broke or quit or something several years ago and I never replaced it. I could, but I find that I like the physical book better so I’ve been OK keeping with that so far. But yes, it also does mean I preorder too many books. ;)
I lost my kindle for years and then it got so out of date that last year when it was Black Friday I got a new one for £40 which we didn’t think was too bad. It wasn’t the most up to date generation but close enough 😂 it has saved me some shelf space!
I tend to buy “outdated” things like phones or sometimes laptops. Most of the time, they work fine even if they aren’t what all the cool kids are getting. ;) Those Christmas deals can be so good. :)
This one was a year old and has adverts when you open it up. I just ignore the adverts so it doesn’t bother me. It was a great deal! It does what I need it to do 🤣 to be honest the older stuff is sometimes better anyway 😂
The older stuff is sometimes better. Some times “improvements” or updates just aren’t as good. :)
Exactly! I dread the message – your phone needs to update 😂😂
…and computers too! ;)
I know a lot of TTT bloggers loved Six of Crows, but I don’t know if you’d feel the same way.
I agree, Lydia! At the time, I was really excited about that one (cannot remember why) but I’m guessing at this point it wouldn’t be a “me” kind of read. :)
I really like the Red Queen series!
I’m so glad to hear this! That was a series I bought because everyone was loving it and I was intrigued. But never did I read any! :)
I haven’t read any of the others but I remember really liking Red Queen and Six of Crows. I hope you will too!
Thanks! I appreciate that. Hopefully, if I keep these, I will enjoy them. :)
I have The Blonde Identity on my TBR as well and it is available on Libby for me which is sick. Curses and Kisses looks pretty cute as well! I hope you enjoy these :)

Thanks! I hope to enjoy these all as well. :) Hope you like The Blonde Identity (it does sound fun) and Curses and Kisses (which I am only just NOW remembering… I have read! Totally forgot that), too. It was cute as a now remember.
The Kiera Cass book also made my TBR, but I still haven’t read it yet either. Hope you’ll love these if you decide to still read them!
Thanks! I hope so too, Lindsey! :)
I wasn’t as hyped about Six of Crows unfortunately, but if you love a good heist, it might be for you.
But if you want to eliminate one book from this list, my pick would be A Thousand Heartbeats. Not telling you why because I don’t want to spoiler, but my review is somewhere on my blog.

Good to know, Laurie! Thanks! It can be tough to decide what books to keep when I do an unhaul. Especially since I try not to read story spoilers. But I did hear LOTS of good about Six of Crows back in the day. :)
I hope you enjoy them all when you get the chance to read them. And it’s ok if you decide to delete them from your TBR.
Here’s my TTT for the week: https://readbakecreate.com/the-ten-holiday-reads-on-my-tbr-the-longest/
It for sure is! I’m actually long overdue for a bookshelf unhaul so it’s now a question of which ones will stay and which will go. :)
I liked THE BLONDE IDENTITY and THINGS WE DIDN’T SAY. I hope you enjoy the ones you haven’t read yet!
Happy TTT!

Great to hear! I suspect they’ll both stay on my shelf. Now I just have to read them. :)
Last month my youtube algorithm started giving me adds for The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and I thought it looked amazing and couldn’t wait to watch it. Only to start watching it and realize I had already watched it and it came out in 2024! So you aren’t alone! We all do it 😂
LOL, thanks! I am so glad to know this. ;)
