8 TV SITCOMS TO WATCH IF YOU LOVE NETFLIX’S ‘COUNTRY COMFORT’
One of my newest TV obsessions is the Netflix sitcom, Country Comfort. From when I first read its series announcement to now, post watching it, the show is quite different than my expectation. In fact, I didn’t know if I’d care enough to keep watching. But episode one is just sweet enough to keep me coming back. In the spirit of my new adoration for the show, let’s look at a few shows to watch if you like Country Comfort.
LIST | AN AMAZON WATCH-LIST, PART 2: GOOD MOVIES ON PRIME NOW
These titles don’t match up perfectly because, of the ½ comedies I’ve seen, this is a really unique show. That said, some of these have the same kind of feeling, just not always in the same kind of way, and most certainly they have a whole lot less country but the same comforting vibe. Having said this, let’s take a look at a few shows you might also want to binge watch now that Country Comfort reaches its close.
TV SHOWS TO WATCH IF YOU LIKE COUNTRY COMFORT
1: ABOUT A BOY
Like I said up above, most of these shows will on the surface seem quite different than Country Comfort, and they are. But at their heart, they’re about family (made or biological) and that’s what the Netflix show is all about. This is as well, only in this case it’s a single mother, her son and their playboy neighbor. The show is TV-14; there’s frequent adult conversation or content, but nothing graphic.
2: BLESS THIS MESS
This one is a risk to add because I think I’ve only seen one episode. I remember laughing and it does follow a couple who plan to make a go of country living. The show is TV-14.
3: DATE MY DAD
Probably the most family friendly on this entire list, this isn’t a sitcom, and also is the only 40-minute one, this is an adorable show about three girl’s who try and find their widowed father a new mate. It will definitely warm your heart. The show is TV-PG.
4: FULLER HOUSE
One of those titles that seems to fit pretty well, this spin off (from Full House) features, as it suggests, a very full house indeed, and is always dealing in some form of funny. The show is TV-PG. Find on Netflix shows to watch if you like country comfort

One of those quirky, but still pretty lovable shows, this follows a 21-year-old who must raise the daughter he didn’t expect after her criminally minded mother is sentenced to death. There’s rough patches, and this 100% will not be for everyone, but overall, it’s cute. The show is TV-14 for adult conversation/sexual content.
6: RUNNING WILDE
Little bit quirky, this follows a single mother who ends up living as a roommate in the mansion of a former childhood best friend. The show is TV-14/PG (depends on the episode) for adult situations/conversation.
7: THE UNICORN
One of the sweetest half-hour comedies I’ve ever seen (and it’s currently on air today!), this dramedy tells the story of Wade, a widowed father of two who must rely on his best friends to help him cope… and eventually move on. The show is TV-14/PG (depends on the episode) for adult situations/content, but never anything graphic.
8: YOUNG & HUNGRY
Adding this one because, no it’s not about family, but is about a young woman who comes to work for a wealthy man (as a chef) who is in need of some help in his life. The show is TV-14 for sexual content/innuendo. shows to watch if you like country comfort
BONUS! IMAGINARY MARY
This one didn’t last long, but I did think it was pretty cute. Follows a career woman who meets the perfect man, only the one catch is, he has three kids. Unable to cope, this sends her backwards and she begins to again talk with her imaginary friend from childhood. The show is TV-14 for sexual content/adult situations.
