Here we go, another Thursday and another “booktube Thursday” has arrived. Sort of. Today, the feature video (aka known as a ‘booktube talk’ vlog flop) technically went live on Tuesday, but there’s a story to go with this.
You see, I intended this vlog to be watchable, and full of reading. I mean I only featured two books, both of which I’d already started reading – easy, right? Alas, this didn’t work. Not only are some of the clips poor (really, how does one find the right camera settings for filming!!??), but I also didn’t really read because apparently I chose the wrong week to make an attempt at vlog filming. *sigh* Then to further complicate things, the editing process was a bear!! I uploaded this video, five or six times! Largely because my editing software developed a tude, and let me tell you, I am not here for that. The fourth of fifth time I thought for sure THIS IS THE ONE. But nope. With a mere 20-some seconds remaining until its upload was complete, the Internet cut out.
It’s like the bookish universe was saying, “DON’T POST THIS VIDEO.” You know what, it’s right, but guys, I did it anyway. (This is also why a video published on Tuesday vs. Thursday.)
Plus, this is how we learn right!? When we stop learning (or think we know everything), that’s what things go wrong methinks.
ANYWAY, though this video isn’t good quality (even compared to my prior videos), it’s been a fun process for me. If I do film another, hopefully the quality will be better. Finally; if you have any expert tips on what settings to use when filming, please let me know or direct me to the best people to ask. It’s all about learning during this process! For now, if you want to see aforementioned video, it’s live on Finding Wonderland’s channel now. Watch at your own risk. *wink*The Video That is an EPIC but Fun Fail | Booktube Talk Vlog 1: aka the video in which I fail (horribly) at the pop culture art that is a #vlog. SEND HELP! Click To Tweet
