‘Aurora Teagarden: A Game of Cat and Mouse’ See a Fun New Mystery

by

Small town librarian turned amateur sleuth, Aurora Teagarden (Candace Cameron Bure) has solved many a mystery. But the one thing she hasn’t before experienced is being a puzzle piece in the latest crime-spree in their small town. When vandalized scenes become the centerpiece for messages from old detective novels, and Aurora specifically seems to become a target, it’ll take all of her bookworm knowledge to figure out the case.

Together with her mother (Marilu Henner), a reluctant police chief, her reporter friend, Sally and their latest arrival, college professor Nick Miller (Niall Matter), Aurora has a mystery on her hands that’s unlike any other!

She’s back! Another trio of installments in the Aurora Teagarden mystery game is here. With its primary cast returning, those who love to puzzle out new clues with this cool librarian should enjoy these. The first up is ‘A Game of Cat and Mouse,’ which is, of course, a case that investigates the threat to our titular character; which is a place she’s never before found herself in!

Part of the charm of this series is the ensemble cast. From the nosy (albeit cute) newspaper reporter (the best friend) to the annoyed Chief of Police and her detective husband, and finally Aurora’s Murder Club mystery buffs, there’s plenty of characters to like. Aurora’s curious mind makes for a fun lead, though I’ll admit, I’m still sad over the written off Martin (played by Murdoch Mysteries’ actor Yannick Bisson). He was by far, the guy we got to know best in Aurora’s life, and of course, I do have a soft spot given my fondness for the actor’s 1900 period drama detective show.

That said, anyone who’s a frequent Hallmark Channel (or Hallmark Movies and Mysteries!) viewer will enjoy seeing Niall Matter in this. His Nick is a likable character who we will certainly enjoy the chance to get to know better. In conclusion, I suspect his character is already found its way into the hearts of fans. Now, let’s just hope he gets to stay on.

As is always the conclusion of these reviews, if you like the actors, the characterization or just a fun cozy mystery, then Aurora Teagarden: A Game of Cat and Mouse is a must-see!
