How I Rank the ‘Countdown to Summer’ Hallmark Romance
As is a kind of routine habit here on this space, we’re jumping back on the “ranking Hallmark” movies by their seasonal campaigns. Up until now, the ones I’ve publisher here this year were already ranked once on Finding Wonderland’s book channel, but I wanted to put them all in print, too, with perhaps a change or two. However, this “ranking” is all new as I’ve never ranked the 2019 campaign known as “Countdown to Summer.” Today we’ll remedy that with a “ranking countdown to summer Hallmark romance” post.
LIST | 20 Books that Look (and ARE!) All Kinds of Happy From my Shelf
Despite its short run, this campaign arrived with an impressive five titles, two of which I have not yet seen. Nevertheless, I did see three of them, and of the two I didn’t see, I’ll talk about how I think I’d like them based on what I know. Let’s do this thing.
Here’s my thoughts on the two I haven’t yet seen, and how I think I’d rank them (least to most favorite) between the two.
2: Paris, Wine and Romance
Jen Lilley, a popular “Hallmarkies” star is the leading lady in this one, and though I have not seen it, I know she’ll be lovely as she always brings that “girl next door” cute quality to any role she plays.
1: Love in the Sun
Pretty sure I’ve enjoyed every one of the Hallmark romances with a kind of “destination” like this one has, one that takes place on a tranquil beach. Plus I love that this one features new-to-Hallmark faces.
As always, these rankings will be from least to most favorite. This doesn’t mean they aren’t still entertaining, they’re just not among my most favorites, even though all of them are still quite cute. summer hallmark romance

To be honest I anticipated enjoying this one a great deal more than I did. I really like the leading man, and the concept (friends who realize they’re soul mates) is always a fun one, but alas, it just didn’t suit my movie-watching preference. That said, it’s still darling, even if I did wish we’d been given more indication that these two did actually fall in love.
2: Sailing into Love
To be honest, I remember thinking this one was really sweet, but it didn’t have enough military. You see, its hero is a former military man, and with exception to one (I think?) scene in uniform (granted, it’s good), there isn’t much else here. Still, it’s cuuute, and fun.
1: A Feeling of Home
This one took me by surprise. I didn’t think I’d enjoy it as I did because it’s a hometown setting which isn’t my favorite. That said, something about the actors (who are newer faces to the network) and the story work seamlessly. It’s just, plain and simple, adorable.
