BOOKS ON MY SHELF THAT HAVE NATURE IN THEIR TITLES

by

It wasn’t long ago (I mean it was 2021, so…) I put together a list of book cover art that was all about nature plus one about water, too. This is why today I’m looking for something just slightly different, but whether we’ll find it remains to be seen. We’re just going to settle in and start trying to find some fiction book titles about nature, or at least a fictional title that includes nature, and see where it gets us.

Some of these may be repeats or “fails” in that they don’t quite fit on the list, but as this is just all about having fun and featuring some books, we’re going to go with it regardless. Let’s see what our shelf searching yields.

FICTION BOOK TITLES ABOUT NATURE

THE GOLD IN THESE HILLS and SONGS OF BLACKBIRD MOUNTAIN, JOANNE BISCHOF

I’ve read one of these and one I haven’t. They’re written by an author with a talent. Goodreads

THE BUTTERFLY AND THE VIOLEN, KRISTY CAMBRON

The butterfly is the callout winner for adding this one. I’ve read a couple of Kristy’s novels but not recently. However, I did preorder her upcoming title, too. Goodreads

THE ROSE OF WINSLOW STREET, ELIZABETH CAMDEN

One of the rare historical authors I did enjoy and have read more than one book by. This is one of her earliest titles, and one of her more recent wasn’t a favorite so I need to give another of hers a chance again. The rose is the winning word here. Goodreads

THE MOON AND MORE, SARAH DESSEN

A popular YA author that I’ve only read one book by, and this isn’t the one. Goodreads

RAINBOW COTTAGE, GRACE LIVINGSTON HILL

This one is a throwback and not one I have ever read. Not that I remember anyway. I have that little mass market edition, and don’t think it’s one I bought. It was either my mom’s or one of those that someone bought for fifty cents at some used book sale. Goodreads

QUEEN BEE, AMALIE HOWARD

A young adult historical novel that has bee in its title so I’m including it because while the word isn’t used as “nature,” I’m making it fit. Goodreads

TOUCHING THE CLOUDS, BONNIE LEON

I read some of Bonnie’s books, a series set in Australia, but haven’t ever read this one, which takes place is Alaska. Goodreads

THE BLUEBIRD AND THE SPARROW, JANETTE OKE

One that throws it way back in my reading history. Janette is the author that inspired (loosely so) the Hallmark favorite When Calls The Heart, and she wrote lots of other prairie like fiction, too. Goodreads

ENGLISH IVY, CATHERINE PALMER

I read this one years ago and cannot remember it much. In fact, I was looking through a box of books I’m going to list on eBay, and realized, I used to read a lot of historical fiction. Including this and the next two by the same author as well. Goodreads

SWEET VIOLET and WILD HEATHER, CATHERINE PALMER Goodreads

TROUBLED WATERS and WILD MONTANA SKIES, SUSAN MAY WARREN

Lots of Susan’s novels have a kind of nature-esque look to their design or the titles, so these are just two of the titles that kit nicely. Goodreads

    1. Fun! Hope you find some to enjoy. :)

PS: I did try to visit your post/list, Lisa, but for some reason when I try to comment, a whole bunch of text like this “{“version”:”20240116″,”show_thumbnails”:false,”show_date”:true,”show_context”:true,”layout”:”grid”,”headline”:”Related”,”items”:” shows. But I appreciate you visiting. Thank you!

    1. I don’t think I read ‘Touching the Clouds,’ but I read an Australian series by her. I get that about Joanne’s book. It’s a different concept/plot, but I think I ended up really liking it and like you, I really do want to read ‘The Gold in these Hills.’ It’s just another that remains on my still-have-to-read shelf. ;)

  1. These are all such beautiful covers! That top row catches my eye the most, especially The Rose of Winslow Street. Thanks for introducing me to a bunch of books I haven’t heard of before.

    1. Fun! I hope you find some to enjoy (Elizabeth Camden’s books have historically been favorites of mine), Leah, and as always, many thanks for visiting. :)
