‘Overboard’ (2018): A Cute RomCom That Will Entertain
There are those films we delay watching for any and no particular reason. One on my list is the re-make of Overboard (2018).
Overboard (2018) Film Review
Busy doesn’t being to describe single mom Kate Sullivan’s life. She juggles two jobs, three girls and is studying for the nursing exam she must pass. It’s at one of these jobs that she meets Leonardo (Eugenio Derbez), a wealthy man who wants none of the responsibility of his family’s company but all of the fun the wealth allows.
Though Kate (Anna Faris) never expects to see the condescending man again, fate has much different ideas. Leo winds up losing his memory after falling overboard from his yacht, and in desperate need of help while she prepares for her test, Kate plans the perfect revenge! All she has to do is convince Leo they’re happily married. overboard 2018
FILM REVIEW | ‘Fever Pitch’: A Fun Home Run of a Comedy
‘Overboard’ (2018): A Cute RomCom That Will Entertain. Have you seen this Anna Faris #comedy? #Romance #Remake #Movies #WhattoWatch Share on XI remember thinking this looked really funny at its “new” release time, and even watched the old version in anticipation of seeing this. But here we are, these years later and I’m only just now watching it. To be honest, I found the original forgettable though I don’t know why. I simply cannot remember much but do know this version made me giggle – a lot.
I’ve not seen the lead actor in anything that I know of, but Anna Faris’ movies are always a good time if not a big on the crude spectrum of comedy. Here she plays things a little more seriously than she’s been before, but it’s the perfect counter to the outrageous (in a good way) plot. Oh! And you’ll also see Swoosie Krutz, and the Sullivan girls are all darling.
With a firm grip on being nothing more than its purpose, which is a fun comedy, Overboard 2018 is surprisingly entertaining. There are sweet moments, some slap happy humor and of course, an end everyone will see to be a crowd-pleaser.

Content: Some suggestive conversation/innuendo. Leo is shown as a playboy in a suggestive scene or two; and he tries to be with Kate given they’re married. (We see two people in bed and the butt of a naked man.) There’s some minor profanity/language. The film is PG-13
