7 AUTHORS THAT WRITE THE BEST KINDS OF COZY “AWW” MOMENTS

When it comes to romance, I’m a massive fan of the genre. I love a good book that takes all the romance-y things and puts it into a solid story. Though our suggestion this week doesn’t require that romance be involved, but still… we know that’s probably what I’ll lean into. While I’m one who appreciates a romance that gets a little deeper than just spot on meet-cutes, sometimes I just want something lighthearted and sweet. Because of this I’m looking at seven cozy romance authors who write aww novels.

When it comes to remembering the specific aww moments from these novels, I’m kind of worthless. I love these moments in the moment and while I’m reading the book, but to remember this is a big ask. This is why I just cannot try to remember the what of the moments. Likely I’d be better prepared to write a list of aww scenes from TV or film, but since I want to be a little more prepped (last minute work here) and give more consideration to that list, we’re going with this.

So, in more of a generalization, I’m sharing authors that tend to write books that inspire these types of reactions. However, I know my list is somewhat redundant because I talk about these authors a lot. My apologies for this. When you enjoy an author, you keep the gushing going. Because we love a good fuzzy and sweet moment. Let’s meet these authors.

SEVEN COZY ROMANCE AUTHORS

MELISSS DE LA CRUZ author of JO & LAURIE

Ok, honestly, I don’t know if I’d get all of the warm, cozy and aww feels from anything else by Melissa de la Cruz or her co-author Margaret Stohl, however I did get them from Jo and Laurie. This was one of the FEW books I’ve read since I haven’t been reading and it just made me fell all the warm, cozy book feels I didn’t know I need. Add on Goodreads

RACHEL HAUCK author of THE ROYAL WEDDING BOOKS

Rachel’s books are all the cute and fun romance moments, which we love.

KATHERINE REAY author of DEAR MR. KNIGHTLEY

Katherine is an author who would be an example of less aww in romance and more just in the cozy and cute kind of ways. Her books really dig deeper and I love that.

BELL RENSHAW author of JUSTIN HARBOR

Bell’s novels, also the pen name of Emilie Haney, her novels are the quintessential cozy and aww books that are just darling. Add on Goodreads

MELISSA TAGG author of AUTUMN BY THE SEA

Melissa’s books are good romance novels, especially her early ones. I think her more recent ones are a litter more emotional however in her earlier novels, which is what I read, she writes THE ultimate meet-cutes and seems to take inspiration from classic romance movies. Add on Goodreads

BECKY WADE author of TRUE TO YOU

With award winning books to her name and a group of devoted fans (myself among them), her novels are not “normal.” This I mean as a compliment. Her novels are full of romance charm, yes, but they are more emotional and dig deeper. Add on Goodreads

KASIE WEST author of PS. I LIKE YOU

Pretty sure not adding Kasie to this list would be sort of book blasphemes. I mean I walk about Kasie all the time though to be perfectly fair, I don’t think I’ve mentioned her in the last few weeks. Or have I? I don’t know. Either way, she’s the prime example or writing those “aww” moments in books with her fun and sweet rom-com young adult novels. Add on Goodreads

Also, can we just TALK about how CUTE Kasie’s 2023 cover art is!?

THREE AUTHORS I HOPE HAVE ALL OF THE COZY “AWW” MOMENTS

SARAH ADAMS author of WHEN IN ROME

A recent add to my shelf. This one just sounds really fun and cute, plus that cover!! How cute, right? Add on Goodreads

EMIKO JEAN author of TOKYO EVER AFTER

Love The Princess Diaries so when I see this one likened to that iconic story, I had to pick this one up. Here’s hoping it’s a fun read. Add on Goodreads

SOPHIE SULLIVAN author of TEN RULES FOR FAKING IT

I recently bought a couple of books by Sophie Sullivan and hear her books are really fun. I’m hopeful. Add on Goodreads

  1. I’m the same, I like sweet moments in books when I read them (which to be honest is not all that often because I read genres that trend more towards the dark moments than sweet ones) but will I remember them for a long time afterwards? Probably not. I probably could have done sweet moments in TV shows but instead I went in a completely different direction this week!

    1. Pretty sure I could have gone the TV show route as well, Jo! But then I decided to save that for future content because I’m always looking for romance-y things around Valentine’s Day. Trying to remember the specific “aw” moment in a book is out of the question for me. I just know these authors tend to write them. :) Thanks so much for visiting!!

    1. I have heard of Jenny, but don’t think I’ve really looked at her novels! Definitely an author to add to my possible books-to-read list. :) Thanks for visiting, Pam.

  2. I agree about Jenny Colgan being a cozy, awww moment author. I recognized the name Katherine Reay so had to look up which one of hers I’ve read – The Printed Letter Bookshop; and I really like the relationships between 3 women at different stages of their lives, and if I’m not mistaken, there’s a gentle awww or two. :) Not a romance reader but touching, sad, or aww moments can be found in most any book if you’re open to it! :)
Hope you find time to read a good book this week.

    1. Totally agree! There’s way more than just romance that can have those “aww” moments. I haven’t read the one you did by Katherine (yet), but do plan too. Those I did read from her were lovely and fabulous. :) And thanks for the seconding of Jenny’s books. An author I’ll for sure have to look into.
