When it comes to fashion, I’m nothing like the fashion forward people who write about it or the shows that “reveal” the trends. By this I mean, even post this on March fifth is late for sharing some spring fashion trends. However, if you’re like me, this is about the time you even start to think about what you might like for a spring refresh. Plus, usually those fashion shows tend to show looks or pieces that are totally unattainable. I also rarely if ever like the “look” they show.

Despite the lateness of this by the industry standards, I’m only just now looking at spring-y things I may like. This is why today we’re going to share some of the things the Internet says is trending and where you can find some of them. Because that is the work we decided to put in today. Let’s take a look.

SPRING FASHION TRENDS of TWENTY-TWENTY-THREE

BASICS

Who What Wear and some other articles still talk about basics including the oversized blazer. There’s plenty of these still showing, too. This oversized one-button blazer for one option⁽¹⁾ plus there’s another look in this, what’s called, long blazer⁽²⁾. Also a look that would fall into more of the of “basic” trend is this two-piece ribbed set⁽³⁾. It wouldn’t work on me, but I do see lots of influencers in this look and if you like the cropped look, though an Amazon find, the ratings seem decent. Since denim is a whole thing this year, there’s also a denim skirt that may be worth being a closet staple^(4).

For pants, there’s some Talaren corduroy pants from Petal and Pup⁽⁵⁾ or some cargo pants⁽⁶⁾. Perhaps not “basics” in the way of the rest, we still have to add a cargo pant option since they’re a popular look now.

If one likes jean shorts, the 501 pair from Levi’s always grabs those high ratings⁽⁷⁾. We cannot forget some jeans too like this slim fit pair by Gap⁽⁸⁾; or this Target boyfriend style pair that looks kind of like a hybrid jean and cargo pant⁽⁹⁾. Since denim is popular this season, this pair with the seam down the middle and slight flared cut looks trendy and fun⁽¹⁰⁾.

BOHO AND FUNKY TRENDS

Vogue says that boho is in sporting “imperfect fashion” which they saw on runways. This, they describe, as meaning “frayed edges, crochet details, and romantic distressing.”

Going in with an Amazon pick first for this trend which is an “eyelet crocheted” blouse (with good ratings) that comes in many colors⁽¹¹⁾. Next, there’s another crochet blouse that’s described as “flowy” and featuring pom poms⁽¹²⁾. From Piper and Scoot, this lace blouse is also quite stunning⁽¹³⁾; after eyeing this one, I did order it, so we’ll see if its in person pretty. A long sleeve blouse with floral details and smocked detailing⁽¹⁴⁾ is another I’ll put here. Don’t know that this is Vogue’s definition of boho, and maybe it’s no ones, but I’m also going to put this 2-piece yellow skirt set⁽¹⁵⁾ under this heading.

Finally, Love Olive Co. has these floral patterned pants in a khaki coloring⁽¹⁶⁾. Or these unique high-wasted, baggy jeans⁽¹⁷⁾. Finally, here’s some fun boho-esque earrings, too!⁽¹⁸⁾

CHECKED IN

According to Love Olive Co., the “checked” print is in style and a happening thing this year. You can find pieces at Love Olive Co. like this cute green and pink checked cardigan⁽¹⁹⁾ or an orange sweater⁽²⁰⁾; For a simple checkered pattern addition to your closet, there’s a blush tee with a smile-y face!⁽²¹⁾. Target has this checked cropped cardigan sweater⁽²²⁾ and Amazon even has some pieces with decent ratings. This would include these purple checked pants⁽²³⁾ or this “shades of saffron” (which is a color trend according to Who What Wear) this check print sweater⁽²⁴⁾. Which now brings us into our next heading…

COLORS

According to Refinery 29, “Shades Of Purple” is a thing this spring. I don’t know that I’m feeling purple as a “thing” for my own wardrobe, but we’ll see. Another color I have seen touted is a cobalt blue. Which would you be more likely to use?

There’s a v-neck (pretty low if you don’t like that) purple dress with ruffle details with decent ratings⁽²⁵⁾; or also in a pretty purple shade is this set⁽²⁶⁾ which also comes in a neon or lime green shade too. I’m seeing colorful trouser styled pants make some rounds in the influencer circles too. Though most are pricier, there’s this pair of trouser pants in a green shade⁽²⁷⁾ (the key lime green color is in according to Who What Wear). Going back to purple, florals are showing up a lot, at least in boutique shops. Something like this daisy floral cardigan⁽²⁸⁾; a brightly colored floral jumpsuit⁽²⁹⁾ or daisy patterned pants⁽³⁰⁾ (neither of which I could pull off!).

DETAILS

Refinery 29 says a way to up our game is with some fancy flats! This pair is one option⁽³¹⁾. To go with the checkered trend, here’s a set of claw clips or as an alternate, a checkered headband.

GIRLY DRESSES

Fortunately for anyone who loves dresses with girly touches or just a pretty dress in general, lots of places continue to stock them, so we’re working under the assumption they’re in, right? This would include this tiered, short sleeved dress has color options with smocking details⁽³²⁾. A hi-low hemline dress that comes in more than one color choice⁽³³⁾. Then there’s a high waisted skirt, with a slit in the back⁽³⁴⁾ (if that’s more your look). From Love Olive Co. is this pretty pale yellow dress with pretty and feminine details⁽³⁵⁾. Probably the least “girly” dress, done in the style of an oxford shirt with some cute details and a longer sleeve for those areas that spring is slow to arrive⁽³⁶⁾.

METALLICS

Who What Wear and also Refinery 29 (again), says “so much silver” (metallics) is trending. I’m not one who’d go for any kind of “full” on silver look. But something like this silver clutch⁽³⁷⁾ (also works as a shoulder bag too) would be a fun touch. The more practical way to add metallics or silver would be some silver jewelry which likely we all have in our stash, and the fashion gurus say is trending. If it’s more your vibe, there’s also rhinestone cowboy boots that have some metallic dazzle⁽³⁸⁾. If playing dress up is more your thing, there’s these metallic-like dresses that would work, too. This flutter sleeve option comes in a rose gold tone or champagne⁽³⁹⁾; then there’s this shorter length flutter sleeve wrap around style⁽⁴⁰⁾. Then we have a long sleeve button up⁽⁴¹⁾ or for under a blazer which would add that metallic look, there’s a sleeveless cami in silver⁽⁴²⁾. Finally, there’s this ruffled sleeve top that has some sparkling touches⁽⁴³⁾. Though to be honest, this probably isn’t part of a spring release. Still, we’re leaving it here. metallic
