A FEW CHRISTMAS DÉCOR LOOKS AND STYLES – JUST FOR FUN!
What’s your décor style for Christmas? Mine would be simple and elegant (meaning I’m the adage “less is more”). My mother loves to decorate with more in the sense of small figurines and even traditional elements like a stocking. However I like clean and pretty, with of course, some sparkle too! As retailers bring out new styles each year, I thought I’d show you some Christmas décor – just for giggles and fun!

A FEW CHRISTMAS DÉCOR LOOKS AND STYLES – JUST FOR FUN! #CHRISTMASLIGHTS #CHRISTMASDECOR #CHRISTMASDECORATIONS #CHRISTMAS Share on XTarget always has a bunch of ideas and styles I like. Most of them don’t fit with the spaces I have to work with, as is true of much of the décor I use. My space doesn’t work with modern things or anything that’s untraditional. Does this mean I still try to make it fit? Sure! It’s just something I cannot seem to help. Despite this being way too late, I’m still rolling with it. It’s kind of an unwritten rule to put this together around here. Let’s go!
CHRISTMAS DÉCOR LOOKS AND STYLES – JUST FOR FUN
COLORFUL & CHEERFUL
I always see these types of collabs and think they look snazzy and fun. However, as I said earlier, I don’t have the space to make them work. But this Opalhouse collection (from Target, of course!) is all kinds of fun. It’s got some MAJOR personality and sass and I’m here for it.
Tying much of this collection together is tassels and its part of what gives the décor that personality. Whether it’s on the little trees you’d set around as décor or the fun throw blankets (for a pop of color on your couch!), there’s plenty of tassel love.
You can find tassel garlands like this fun one.
CLASSY & CALM
This is more my vibe. I don’t like an explosion of Christmas, but rather simple and understated. I am a big fan of twinkle lights and think they speak for themselves so if there’s minimal of everything else, all you really need is a healthy dose of twinkle light sparkle.
For mine, I use a bunch of white and while I’m probably the only one I know who lights this, that’s okay. Target has a Wondershop collection that’s all about whites and neutrals in their snowed in cabin collection.
My tree uses primarily white ornaments (some really simple like this, and others with more texture from various places) and silver. It’s very simple but I love the stark white against the green branches. Since I’m very much an aesthetic person, I pair it with gifts wrapped in green paper and white as well. Wreaths (this one is 24” and is flocked) and garlands (from a prelit one from National Tree Company to a more “sparse” one with pinecones) are also very much my vibe, and in fact I posted a pretty photo on my Instagram stories that I love. It’s maybe a little too busy, but the overall idea is one I love.
These white houses described as “lanterns” are also good if you have a mantle or just a shelf you’d want to add a bit of cheer too.
ECLECTIC
Some of you are probably all about embracing that eclectic look – and why not? This means your décor may range from something random you picked up at a store to handmade ornaments by kids, and maybe one of those ornament packs you’ve added here and there through the years.
This Wondershop (from Target) Toy Kingdom collection looks fun if you’re looking to take on more of a theme but keep your same style sense. It’s playful and keeps the childhood aspect of décor present through the use of toys and other colorful fabric décor.
If you’re looking for something just a little more in this décor styling, Amazon has a TON of cute “felt” garlands. Everything from these nostalgic Twinkle light bulb shape to the fun and bright pom-pom style. These candy canes are fun, too!
TRADITIONAL & SIMPLE
Traditional typically means red and green or some variation on this. This pom-pom or tassel garland is traditional in its colors, but adds a more modern spin on the usual traditions. Target naturally has a collection that’s called “Classic Christmas,” or there’s the Hearth and Hand Magnolia collection which tends more towards a rustic traditional.
This 20” pre-lit wreath is also a nice addition to your walls or a door as well; and for being on Amazon, it does look nice. Whether or not it actually is would be a possible risk. This twig and berry garland looks nice with the traditional look as well or there’s this PRICIER one that’s pre-lit.
TWINKLE LIGHTS, TOO!
Of course, don’t forget those twinkle lights! We all know a tree or any space just isn’t complete without them.
What about you? Why type of décor do you like? Do you use a theme or just put up whatever is in the bins? (Trust me, I have way too many of these.) Is there a specific color theme you like? Or are you a traditionalist and decorate with whatever creations your kids design? Comment all the comments down below!
Thank you for visiting! Please, do come back soon.
I have a mix of decor – some very traditional (Lenox pieces) and others homemade/more fun. So, I guess my style is eclectic!
I feel like most people are more eclectic than not. :) I tend to like a theme, so in my décor that’s what I like to stick to, but I think it’s fun to look at what everyone else does!
