FALL FASHION 2023: WHAT EXPERTS SAY IS TRENDING

When it comes to fashion, the rule around here is I like it but I’m not always “up” on what the cool girls say is trending. Then sometimes if I am aware of it, I’m the only shaking my head say, and we like that because…? Like any of these publications start, I still have fun putting these fashion agendas together and so this brings us to talking about some 2023 fall fashion trends. Because I’m curious to know what the “in the know” people say we should be wearing.

FALL FASHION 2023: WHAT EXPERTS SAY IS TRENDING. Talking #FallTrends and new #fall styles on this day. #Fashion #FallFashion #Denim #Colors #FallTrend Share on X

I think mainly I go for sweaters and more neutral colors in fall, but unless I’m mistaken, I think some colors are trending this season. Unlike more recent posts in this category, I’m going to try (really try) to streamline today’s publication and share less so we’re not showing quite as much which then reduces the clutter. Let’s see how well we get on with this, starting with ending our opening and jumping in.

2023 FALL FASHION TRENDS

CARDIGANS

I didn’t see mention of a cardigan in any fashion article I perused, but I’m still seeing online boutiques show them in their new arrivals section so I’m guessing there is still a bit of an obsession with them. Plus, they’re cozy. Just like this oversized style in colors like black and ivory, or yellow; for another basic option, there is this button-up v-neck. Boutique shop Piper and Scoot also has this pretty floral cardigan that’s nearly sold out (but they do re-stocks) or this fun oversized checkered one!

CLASSIC white SHIRT

This one has been a closet staple for years. But according to Vogue, it’s still in whether they’re “long and lean,” “boyish” (wear with a mini skirt they say) or “uncomplicated charm of a pinstripe.” How do you style a white shirt? There are any number of options including this classic white style; oversized boyfriend style; this creamier, fitted peter pan collar style; or a pinstripe! Here’s also a miniskirt in black if you want to copy Vogue styling options.

COLOR of FIRE

In more than one writeup, I saw “fiery red” as the it color for this season. Who What Wear shouts it out, which seems like good news for those of us who like to bring this color into the wardrobe for Christmas. Ways to pull in red would be a slim belt; statement earrings; cute sneakers; this midi skirt is fun; or this sweater that has good reviews.

Though only seeing this according to Elle, hues of yellow is also popping this season. Though maybe this is more an end of summer early fall trend and then we break out the red for later into Christmas! Do the same as with red, and bring this in with accessories like this bag or belt; opt for a slip skirt or slip dress and layer it with jewelry or your favorite denim jacket for a casual look. Finally, there’s a pretty textured sweater or the colorblock sweater.

DENIM on DENIM

Target is, the only place I’ve seen the “denim on denim” heading. Though I don’t see anything about pairing up denim, Elle does talk about basics and show a wider or more relaxed jean leg. According to my order history, I picked up this baggy straight style from Madewell, which I like but think the legs are a little too baggy. Since I didn’t return them, I have to wear them; the fit now is baggy channeling “old school cool” fits. This double breasted denim vest is cute with classic elements, but adds a modern touch. Jean skirts are also trending. Opt for this shorter button up style or go for this stretch midi length that modernizes its style with fringe. If you do go for this look, or wear a denim jumpsuit, accessorize with a bright colors. Like this funky style; a simpler crossbody; or this fun flower one!

Have you seen any of these trends? Are you wearing any? Which are your favorites? Let’s hear all the thoughts below. Let’s meet in the comments section.
