FASHION TREND ALERT: BARBIECORE FASHION INSPIRATION

If there’s one thing most of us have probably noticed, it’s that this will be the summer of Barbie. This is, of course because of the upcoming feature from Greta Gerwig featuring Margot Robbie in the role of Barbie. This has inspired an entire pink fashion mood where recent history tells us there wasn’t. Inspired by this and all of the magazine covers, we’re going to take a look at some Barbiecore fashion inspiration, hoping to find some reasonable items you could add to your closet rotation.

Anytime I put together something about fashion, I try to look for items that are first and foremost reasonably priced. Today, this can be difficult. After this, I try to only include items that have decent ratings. This we trust slightly more in since places like Amazon while generally affordable can be a big hit or miss with fashion finds. But either way, let’s see what is in our finds.

BARBIECORE FASHION INSPIRATION

THE ALTHETIC BARBIE

Anyone like me won’t be much of an athletic girl, however, I do wear athletic clothes daily while working at home.

The review count is low, but this tennis dress looks like a fun option if you enjoy walking, sports or tennis. Or it could be cute for running errands with some tennis shoes and a cropped jacket. Nothing is more comfy than an oversized sweatshirt, and this one seems to be available in a pretty shade of pink. If you’re anything like me, you prefer a more comfortable shoe for errands or just daily tasks, and if you can do this in pink, why not? These Sketchers could be a fun addition or these fun hot pink sneakers. You can also find some hot pink sport sandals. This running cap is a nice shade of pink, and if you like outdoor exercise, it can be the final add on to your look.

THE BUSINESS BARBIE

Sometimes the occasion calls for a bit less casual, and more business attire.

Under this heading, we have to have blazers, right? This open front pocket blazer looks like a gorgeous shade of pink or pick up a brighter pink long version. These Lulu pants aren’t exactly pink, but they still have hints of that. Despite their purple color, we could make them work for a Barbie-esque ensemble.

THE CASUAL BARBIE

If you like pink or shades of it, but are casual, you may enjoy some of the options we round up!

A casual ruffle sleeve t-shirt with your favorite jeans or shorts is one option. This two piece pink set is casual, but also has a dressy-ish look. It can be worn with your favorite sneakers or with a dressier shoe and some jewelry. Paired with your favorite high waist jean, this pink cropped sweater vest may be a cute little closet addition that styled differently could be worn into the fall. Or a jumpsuit in a pretty pink shade. Finally we have this cropped hot pink pair of pants or here’s a pair of mineral washed jean shorts in… pink! If the beach is more your scene, this neon pink cutout suit may be fun. I have zero idea about its quality, but if you want something that “pops,” I’m sure it would be a fun seasonal option. This two piece hot pink set could be your thing or another option is this two-piece set.

Finally, these “walking shoes” in a cute pink color are something I’d wear.

THE DRESSIER BARBIE

We all love to dress up on occasion. Trouble is finding that dress or one thing that looks pretty and works for us. But here’s a few options to look at or maybe offer inspiration for something already in your closet.

This cocktail mock neck dress in what looks to be a really pretty pink shade has some good ratings. This Enchanted to Meet You Dress is super dressy but also delicate and very feminine; and this is certainly an interesting option with its layers of tulle, and would require the right outing to debut. More tulle takes center stage with this gradient style. Under their branding, Amazon also has this half sleeve midi dress that seems a popular buy. Additional options includes this back twist midi dress; there is a ruffle sleeve checked style; or this button up form fitting option. There’s also this satin button-down shirt that looks dressy yet probably could be dressed “down” if the occasion calls for it. Another option is this v-neck chiffon shirt.

THE ACCESSORY ONLY BARBIE

If you like pink, but prefer to add it with some fun and quirky accessories, let’s see what we can find!

At one point, bows were having a whole moment. Everyone from Sydney Sweeney to musical influencers on Instagram were wearing them. If that’s your thing, there’s this smaller bow with a floral print or this bigger one in a solid mauve shade.

This heeled sandal is pricier, but if you’re wanting to add one or two accessories and re-purpose your closet, they are fun with the colorblock look. Is there anything that looks more Barbie-esque than these low-heel slip ons? If you like country looks, this pink cowboy boot could be fun. A handbag can make a fun addition too; one like this “top handle” bag which comes in a fur hot pink version or just a “hot pink” option. As a second option, there’s this chunky gold chain bag, too. Sometimes a backpack is necessary to hold those things we need for an outing and this one boasts complimentary ratings.

At only fourteen dollars, these pink sunglasses could be fun; or another possibility is this cute square shape.

Is the Barbicore trend a fashion look you’d try? Have you tried and are you someone ahead of the curve with the trend? What is your favorite way to use the trend or do you detest anything pink? Comment all of your comments. Let’s talk.
