There’s beloved romance movies, and then there’s beloved romance movies. One fitting the latter is You’ve Got Mail. Celebrating a milestone anniversary in 2023, we’re celebrating with a You’ve Got Mail movie quiz as it becomes 25 years old. That’s right, on December 18th, the film officially becomes a quarter of a century old.

For some of us, we remember going to see this in theaters, which is why I also say, there’s nothing like a pop culture milestone to make us feel, well, mature. The popularity of You’ve Got Mail is fueled by Meg Ryan’s bookshop owner Kathleen and the hate-to-friendship relationship she forms with the box store bookstore exec, Joe Fox. Of course, Tom Hanks plays this iconic role. The film has all the cozy autumn vibes, and surprisingly does end in a way that isn’t all let’s-fix-this-with-a-perfect-bow. Not my most favorite romantic comedy, I did re-watch this earlier in 2023, and did realize, it’s sweet. There are some fun moments and the “falling into love” section helps us learn more about the characters.
