HALLMARK making CHANGES

During the big Television Critics Association press tour, Hallmark made announcements.

Some of them include a streaming name change, upcoming series and movies, and things. Their streaming service, Hallmark Movies Now, is supposed to be retitled to Hallmark+ and will, reportedly, see a price hike to $7.99 from its current $5.99. According to reports, this will all take place in September. Reports also claim the streamer will “dabble in new genres and formats.”

Additionally, the network will be debuting unscripted content on this streaming platform as well as their first ever limited Christmas series, currently titled Holidazed. Honestly, the concept doesn’t sound all that interesting to me which will follow different families who live in a cul-de-sac and have various different challenges. I feel like Hallmark has done this with movies (including Christmas titles) so it doesn’t feel “fresh” or interesting to me. Among the cast is Erin Cahill, Holland Roden, Dennis Haysbert, Nazneen Contractor, Virginia Madsen, Lindy Booth and more. pop culture news one hundred and forty-six

This is the ONLY news to come with Hallmark’s announcements. Nope, they also announced that, following in the footsteps of their successful Wedding Veil movies, they will produce The Groomsman following three guy friends and their quest to find love while taking them to locations like Greece, Italy and Bulgaria. The cast will be made up of Jonathan Bennet, Tyler Hynes (both will also produce) and B.J. Britt.

LAST THINGS

Great American Family also made some headlines this week. First with the news that Jen Lilley alongside Trevor Donovan, Laura Osnes, and Jillian Murray will lead the cast in a modern Christmas remake of Little Women. The other news was that Candace Cameron Bure would be filming a second Christmas film, presumably to air this Christmas season in addition to her Road Less Travelled film. In this film, Jingle Belles, Wedding Belles, she’ll co-star with fan favorite Cameron Mathison. pop culture news one hundred and forty-six

Following up a story from a few weeks ago, the possible spin off for Blue Bloods is going to take a while. The one idea nixed already is a spin off centering on Donnie Wahlberg’s Danny Reagan. This means that, according to the studio, the spin off will take a while because the powers that be want it to be right, presumably as a kind of legacy to the original loved by many for so many years. Of course, as was reported several months back, Blue Bloods will end its fourteen season run this fall.

How many of these did you see? How many keep your interest? What’s your favorite Hallmark news? Comment all of your thoughts below? Let’s talk all about it in the comments section.
