THE WINTER 2023-2024 TBR HOPEFULS

by

Anytime we put together a seasonal TBR, we have the usual disclaimer that is we likely won’t be actually reading this winter 2022 TBR. This because we just don’t follow the TBR. But also like any TBR we publish here, it’s the same in that we do enjoy these types of posts.

We’re ready to share all of the books on our possible winter TBR, including some that were on last year’s list. Because, no, we did not read the books from last year. Let’s meet the candidates for possible reading in this new season.

WINTER 2023 TBR

SO, THIS IS LOVE, TRACY ANDREEN

This is a follow up to So, This is Christmas, and while I haven’t read that one at the prepping of this list, I would like to read it. Hopefully before I’m publishing this since reading this followup Valentine novel would be a great winter TBR addition. Goodreads

A THOUSAND HEARTBEATS, KIERA CASS

We all know I love a fun and guilty pleasure read from Kiera Cass. Especially curious to read this since I felt like Cass’ first release post The Selection was way to similar to her debut novel. This one sounds similar too, but I’m hoping it reads different. The plot explores two different classes with a princess and the boy who knows nothing other than duty as a soldier. Goodreads

THE CHRISTMAS WAGER, HOLLY CASSIDY

I’ve read like three to four chapters in this one, and if there’s one Christmas novel I get read, likely it would be this one since I started it. However, looking at what I didn’t get done in the last week, I’m sure reading will be even less (is this possible?) than it was. Goodreads

THE BODYGUARD, KATHERINE CENTER

After reading a novel by Center earlier this year, I’m determined to read more by her. Here’s hoping I find another one to love, too. Goodreads

THE GOOD PART, SOPHIE COUSENS

Sometimes you have to read your favorite genre (contemporary) even if it’s “off season.” Goodreads

JUST LIKE MAGIC, SARAH HOGLE

I’m not a Christmas-book-reader post Christmas, but I don’t mind reading one or two into early January, so maybe adding this will remind me to read a couple! Heaven knows I have plenty on my shelf. Goodreads

QUEEN BEE, AMALIE HOWARD

I cannot remember where I first saw this one (maybe looking for monthly giveaway options?) but it sounds fun. Goodreads

JUNIPER BEAN RESORTS TO MURDER, GRACIE RUTH MITCHELL

This seems like a fun cozy mystery perfect for this season. Goodreads

THE MYSTERY GUEST, NITA PROSE

Didn’t care for The Maid (in the end) like I anticipated or how I did in the beginning of the novel, but I’ll still read this followup and hope I enjoy it. Goodreads

ROCKY ROAD, BECKY WADE (FEBRUARY)

I try to stay away from upcoming releases on seasonal TBRs because I have so many unread books. But sometimes a new book deserves a place, and this novel by Becky is one of them. Goodreads

    1. Glad to know this about Katherine’s book, Rachel. I loved the one I read by her this year, so I’m hoping to enjoy more. And thank you for visiting here, too! :)

    1. It’s my usual tradition around here. ;) I always WANT to read the books I share, but find I rarely do, and when it comes to reading, I don’t really like having a timeline or a “rule” book of how to read. But nonetheless, I still enjoy making these tbr posts. Thanks so much for visiting! :)

  1. I love that you were realistic and called this list “hopefuls.” So many good books out there just waiting to be read, but so little time. Your list looks fantastic. I definitely recommend The Bodyguard by Katherine Center. SO good! 😀

    1. I’m loving seeing so much good about “The Bodyguard.” Hoping I find lots more by Katherine to enjoy since I liked the book that they made into a movie on Netflix. It’s always fun to discover a new author! Thanks for visiting, Nicole. :)

    1. A Thousand Heartbeats is a carryover from last year since I didn’t read it. I really enjoy Kiera’s books, but this one intimidates me since I’m not fond of long books. ;) YAY for more Katherine Center love. SO excited to read more from her. Thanks for visiting, Lindsey, as always.

    1. Thanks so much, Cindy! I hope so too. I’m not a fan of long novels, so who knows if I’ll find A Thousand Heartbeats good or intimidating. ;) Thanks for visiting!

    1. All great to know, Pam! Thanks. I’m eager to read more by Katherine and I’m enjoying The Christmas Wager so far. Just a few chapters in. :) Glad you stopped by.

  2. Great list, Rissi! I hope you enjoy all of these! I’m looking forward to reading Juniper Bean Resorts to Murder. I’ve been hearing so many good things about it. I’m also excited for Rocky Road. I loved the first book in the series.
