‘A SCOTTISH LOVE SCHEME’ IS A MATURE ROMANCE WITH A MATCHMAKING PLOY
One of the films that’s more depressing than upbeat compared to most from the Hallmark network, A Scottish Love Scheme is different in this way if not others.
A Scottish Love Scheme (2024) Hallmark TV Film Review
Visiting the place her mother grew up in is in the immediate plans for Lily (Erica Duance) and her mother. After a divorce and leaving the family brewery her ex’s family owns, Lily is ready to move on and follow the dreams she didn’t while she was married. Following this trip to her mother’s Scotland, and the friends her mother still keeps in touch with, she’ll take a photography course.
First, she spends time with her mother’s best friend, the three Campbell sons and the favorite, which is Mrs. Campbell’s only grandson, Finn. But it’s the friendship that forms between the eldest Campbell son, Logan (Jordan Young), and Lily that delights everyone.

Typical in so many ways, including the miscommunication trope, A Scottish Love Scheme isn’t unique. Something I repeat write about in relation to TV films, this I know. But facts remain the same. What I think is charming about A Scottish Love Scheme is that it does seem to be a more mature romance. The script lets the characters acknowledge their attraction and interest in one another. It may even be open to the idea that who knows what happens between these two.
With stunning scenery and a decent romance (for 90 minutes), A Scottish Love Scheme is sweet. It’s way too bittersweet for me, which I didn’t anticipate going in, but if you don’t mind that, well this is another Hallmark you’re sure to enjoy. Plus, like anything, it still gifts the viewer with a happy end.

Content: nothing much to note outside the TV-G rating. There is perhaps a brief mention of a guy having a date with another guy.
